Try lite mixture of vinegar and water. That usually helps removing the haze.

Do you need to apply a sealer to the grout?
@Daddicated Жыл бұрын
No but you can definitely apply sealer for extra protection.

I know this is old but I was excited to see the video on installing the tile floor after you removed it and the new vanity for the sink. I was sadly disappointed to not see one created for the tiling of your floor. Did I miss that video?

Yeah to be honest tiling the shower walls took me forever so by time I got to the floor I got lazy and didn't create a full video instruction for tiling. I do have a quick timelapse of it in my complete remodel video but no instructional video for it. Maybe in the future, I will have to make one. Sorry. 😔

I ordered that same grout you used from lowes. The silver color. The day I grouted the shower floor was grey color but the next day all of the grout joints were white instead. What a bummer. Really wanted grey color grout for my white shower floor. Now I don’t know what to do.

Try this amzn.to/3904p3b in a small area first 3-4 tiles and see if it works. If not then either scratch the grout out and regrout it. Or you can stain it. The reason for this is you had moisture in the slab somewhere or you mixed the grout too wet. The effect called Efflorescence.

Hi. About how long after spreading the grout can you start cleaning?
@Daddicated Жыл бұрын
Kind of depends on how your grout was originally mixed. If the grout mixture was more on the drier side when u were working with it then the waiting time should be less. You can probably wait 2-5 minutes and begin to wash. However, if the grout mixture was more on the runny side then you may need to wait 5-10 minutes. Basically if u start washing to soon then it will be really easy to wash the grout out of your joints. If that’s happening then just wait a little longer. However, if it washes just fine then ur good. Hope that makes sense.

Do you use same grout for floor and walls?
@Daddicated3 жыл бұрын
It depends on the grout joint size. In my case, I used sanded grout for the floor and unsanded grout for the walls because the grout joints on the wall were very small. However, let's say I used the same tile on the walls with the same grout joints size then I would have used the same grout all around. I hope this helps.

How long do you wait for the grout to dry before washing?
@Daddicated3 жыл бұрын
Depends on how big ur area you are grouting and how fast your are grouting. Also depends on the consistency of the grout mixture when u started. Meaning if it was very liquid then you may want to wait 5-15mins. Vs if it was kind of dry from the beginning then you probably will end up washing it right away after your are done grouting the area. They way you can tell is start washing the area if the grout is washing out of the grout joints very easily then I would maybe wait another 5-10 mins. You don’t want to wait too long cuz then the washing process becomes really painful.

Barefoot and no kneepads gross that's not a video doing it professional it's my opinion I don't want to watch but then I do just to see how much I would do differently but I don't know.

Barefoot? I’m was wearing socks and that was only for the final washing stage were I didn’t want to make a bigger mess with my dirty shoes. Besides, I’m barefoot always at home. As far as the knee pads, yes I need to invest into some good knee pads instead of using my pillow inside a trash bag. Lol. Also, I never said I was doing it professionally. I’m doing this for myself. But hey thanks for the comment and for watching.
