Do you recommend germinating seeds, soaking for a few (5-7) days, in lower Fairfield county Connecticut ? Will have to mix the damp germinated soil with dry ingredients...use Peat moss? Fertilizer? Please advise. I have a very bumpy, un-level side lawn as had to dig up yard to install water draining Cultech systems. So, will order about 20 yards of topsoil...I have about 5500 square feet of lawn/yard area that I will resoil and reseed. Further, any need to mix in sand? Lots of rocks, both big and small, in yard....Connecticut tings' 😊 Thanks.

3:09 Greetings from the States. I'm all about watching them Brits do their thing with lawn renovations. In US, it's all about that 100% kentucky bluegrass or perennial ryegrass... What's the deal with Brits using leftover grass seeds? I mean, those seed mixes usually got some whack-ass grass breeds in 'em. The only decent thing I see in that mix is the ryegrass. Try rolling with 100% perennial ryegrass seed, man. You won't believe how dope your lawn gonna look, especially when you pair it up with some top-notch fertilizers. Trust me, you gonna be blown away!

Hi Matt, I’m a big fan of your videos and they’re always really helpful. I was after some advice if possible I have a very large bare patch at the back of my garden, due to shade and thorns growing up through the ground creating a bush which has now been removed. The soil is soft and easlily turned Also a large bare patch which gets plenty of sun but the ground is very dry What would you suggest about prepping the ground before sowing seed with a pre seed fertiliser I have scarified and plan to aerate the entire lawn but unsure on these large bare patches, especially the bone dry patch Thanks

Hi Matt, I've been binging your videos for weeks and started my lawn renovation. I've applied roundup to kill the weeds and grass, forked over and leveled the soil. I bought the multipurpose seed and 696 fertiliser from A1 Lawns. Can I put the 696 fertiliser and grass seed at the same time? I noticed you put it at the same time but the instructions often say to leave it for a week. Would love to hear your advice!
@GardenLawncareGuy2 жыл бұрын
For new lawns I put it down before but for overseeding I like to do it at the same time so the existing grass doesn't grow too quickly before the seeds establish

@@GardenLawncareGuy I let mine dry thoroughly and folded them up ready for future use, I think that they cost 75p a meter in length by approx 2 meters in width, maybe less if you have a trade supplier, I got mine from a regular retail garden centre, maybe have a look at some of Daniels videos he explains it much better than I can 😃
@paulstaniford86223 жыл бұрын
Yep. I washed mine down with the hose while on the washing line. Then let the wind blow the dry to use again. Mine are currently on the front lawn stopping the birds eating the seed from over seeding last week but have a feeling now the weather has turned it will need another refurbishment come April as it may have got a little cold overnight for the seed to gore successfully. So impressed with the American Green think I’m likely to kill the front off and start again come April.

Next year I am planning on using iron products probably from a sprayer. Is this a bad idea? Will I end up with brown stones? Will I be able to manage the product to keep it off the pebbles? If you spray with no wind and carefully its possible, you could also use a guard or cover throw something over them if you needed to
