Mayurji, I'm a very old hobbyist. I made a tank myself. With all rock's behind and front glass I bought an huge bus laminated glass. This was with the help of a meson, I fixed all rock's with cement and the front glass also with cement. Then I got the whole tank water proofing, tested frequently till I was sure that there was no water leakage. The size would have been approx 9' x 5'8', height was also 5'. I used regularly soil picked up from a construction site, stained out first the thick sand than stained out the fine sand. The mid sand I washed it so much till I could see it clear and clean, I had almost 9 buckets of sand. I made the wood myself as first dry the wood than I had put the wood in my sump till it was sunk down. I used only cauvery water almost one full tanker. Plants what was available those days I had made a jungle concept. I had almost 200 fish . I used to feed them with live blood worms. But today the entire concept has changed. I had given up on my hobby. But all of a sudden after seeing your video I have developed the intrest. How I wish I can send you the picture of my old tank, if only I had your or Pooja' s watsapp number. I wil get back to you with the Verity of fish I had, they used to grow very big, I used to give back the big ones and get dozens of fish. Sorry my post is very long 😔. I had flowerhorn 8yrs ago for about 5yrs n tat time it was pain to have fishes cz lack of knowledge about fishkeeping. As mayur sir said I am doing the same I have little bunch of some floating and rotala and bacopa moneiri growing first ...as a beginner I don't have so much of thing which are needed for aquascape there fore I took nature help.they are growing in my 2 plastic bottles one is big another is small in which plant is planted, cutting grows under filtered sunlight ,I use 1 teaspoon of cowdung fertilizer in their water they are growing in fine sand and change water in 2-3days, algea growing is a problem but I take out small container out of big bottle and spray water all dirt and algea goes off and change water little by little and ur done.👍

Sir I really loves your video. Everytime I watch and learn as much as possible. You are really a great guru and best teacher. As you mentioned similarly even I did for my tank. First I learned from all sources, your videos and from google about soil, Fertilizers, plants, filter, light and co2 for more than a month. Then after that I tried to do a small scape in my 1 feet tank. So if I succeed I can plan for bigger tank in future. I first used aqua soil 3 litre as I was not able to get Amazonia soil from my local shops near my place. And then I did dry start method for carpet plant Monte Carlo seeds. I grew it for 2 weeks with water spray and light with seal tight using plastic sheet. Once the plants started growing then I added water after 2 weeks to my tank with setting up filter, DIY CO2 as I don’t have budget for co2 cylinder for nano tank. Also introduced Indian Fertilizers 5 in 1 aqua remedies initially to understand the growth and process and if it works or not. But it’s working quite good. As it is having it’s effect in tank, don’t know how long it will go. Planning to switch to ADA or Tropica fertilisers in future if there is no progress. Also after 2 weeks of proper growth Of plants under water .. I introduced 4-5 small neon tetra fish for looks and 2 red cherry shrimp and blue shrimp, for helping in eating algae. Also I just choose one small drift wood after my tank setup of 1.5 months. I did all curing process of the drift wood and introduced in tank after 1 week after it looses the tanning colour and all harmful toxins. And just to add some look to drift wood, I cut and sticked the drift wood in a shape of small tree and over the branches I used java moss. But unfortunately within 1-2 weeks the black beard algae started growing over java moss and melted the moss. Mostly they came due to the online fish which i ordered. I did complete blackout for 3-4 days with spraying phytocarb one of the aqua remedies 5 in 1 solution over java moss but not much progress. So I removed all the java moss and kept my tank with only carpet plant and neat drift wood. In future I am planning to add ADA Anubias nana dwarf one over that drift wood to see the progress. So basically I am doing all trial and error method and learning from my mistake. And I am happy that your videos motivate me to learn more and more. In future I am planning for a 4-5 feet tank setup with all ADA products.. with proper canister filter with good bio media. Even I will setup proper CO2 cylinder. One of the best videos on planted aquarium for beginners.. felt like a heavily information loaded speech.. all good points.. I was planning to use river sand instead of ADA soil. How can I make it work??

Thank you so much 😀, Just river sand will not work, you will need a good layer of Latrite below and you may need to use a good fertiliser in the soil and for the tank

So I am planning with layers from bottom upwards of 1.Dry crushed leaves (a very small layer) 2.Organic potting mixture (less than 0.5 inch) 3.Laterite (0.5-1inch) 4. ADA super 4 5.Riversand (2-4 inch) is this OK? Or is it a totally stupid combo? and ofcourse as you suggested, some good fertilizer for tank and soil. Should I go with Seachem flourish advanced and Excel or a cheaper Aquatic remedies is enough. Or are both of these totally useless. ?? And I am totally ignorant of soil ferts. I do know these tablets which can be used in soil.

Just found this wonderful book Ecology of the Planted Aquarium - A Practical Manual and Scientific Treatise for the Home Aquarist (1999) written by Diana Walstad. A must read for anyone who is genuinely interested in keeping a planted Aquarium. And thanks to your channel and your way of presentation which made me realise that this is also a serious hobby.

Where do I get all these, how much will it cost to set up a small one etc etc, as you said, inspiration is important but hard work too that is equally important... Let's see what I can do...
