The problem is, Avocado can’t really be grown from seed, as the fruits have a high chance of tasting terrible. That’s why all commercial avocados are grown from cuttings.

I also read about this the other day. Something about genetics.

Grafting* choose a good rootstock eg, vigorous growth good disease resistance but not good fruit. And lop off the top and get a cutting of a plant that may be very prone to disease or poor vigor but great tasting fruit and graft it on to the good rootstock to reap the benefit.

Yay! Happy ending. Don't listen to those telling you that things will not grow, such and such... Keep doing amazing things!! ❤️

people are not being negative, they are telling the truth about the plant. you being extremely sensitive. Telling the truth about something is not synonymous with rudeness. Jesus.
I got 2 Avacado before, 1 dead after a few months caused by rotten roots. And another one having the same problem with yours 😢😢it stop growing and now after 1year it grow again 🥰🥰🥰 good luck to your avocado too

It looks like your avocado tree was suffering from rot root. One way to prevent this is to only water every 2-3 days, or wait until the top few centimeters of soil are dry.

Wait but I see that the soil is kinda dry but sure the root is rotting, weird!

But avocados love water. So much that it can stay halfway into water and grow
I successfully grow avocado from seed. First, you should deep the lower half of the seed in water until root comes out numerously. It takes 2-3 months. Then, transfer it into soil pot, but put the lower part into the land only. And it must be red land because avocado likes it. I grow my seed for nearly a year and it is 50cm high now. I just do it for fun, because I heard from my friend whose family grow avocado commercially, he says it takes 3 years for the avocado become mature and takes another 2 years until the first fruit. So 5 years in total. I now understand why avocado is expensive 😅 Ah, I live in a city which is summer the whole year 😅

i've tried to start seeds using this method many times and i've always failed, i basically made my own method to starting them and it hasnt failed me lol, ziplock bag with some soil and put the seed in it for a few weeks and it rooted easily, i kept it indoors. now its about 8 months old and about 45cm in height but covered in leaves

@@6kbps that’s so interesting! How often did you water in the seed of ziplock?
@6kbps2 жыл бұрын
@@Parimew123 i did not water the seeds i just made sure the soil was slightly moist before i closed it and that was it
I think it is because it doesn't get enough space for the roots to grow. It is a tap root plant. Compared to fibrous root, they cannot cramp themselves in a tiny space. The roots like to go deep into soil. At least that's what I learned from my experience with a mango tree. After I replant it on the ground, it grows new leaves and faster too. I honestly thought it was gonna die before planting it on the ground 😂

I don't know, the cultivation of Hass avocado is a very specialized crop, even here in Mexico, it is not grown anywhere... that I know of, only in the state of Michoacán, although the Creole avocado, which has a smooth skin and edible, it grows naturally in Guanajuato and other parts of Mexico, I think it is easy to care for and more delicious, the seed is smaller because it is an organic crop, not like the Hass that is already transgenic.

This year I had grew avocado from seed. I had more luck than you. First I took off the thin skin and sunk half of seed on the water (using some toothpicks and a pot). After about 45 days, the roots was strong and I transferred it for a vase with soil. After 3-4 months it was a beautiful small tree and I gave it for a countryside friend. PS: I'm from Brazil.

I do not like the tooth pick method as I grown mine from the ground and it is a beautiful big tree with lots of sprouts
