The compost I used is called Humax here in the UK. I would advise to use a 'Seed Compost' which is specially formulated for germinating seeds.

Well done!! They look amazing!!
@LearnHow25 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your comment. The seeds germinated very quickly but stayed as very tiny plants for a very long time. However as the weather warmed up they matured into stunning plants - very pleased with them.

Hi..i removed seeds from a wax begonia plant I bought from a garden centre..do you think the seeds are viable?I did remove the seeds correctly but not sure if they're viable or not?Thank you
@LearnHow24 жыл бұрын
Sorry but I have no experience of this. Best thing to do is give them a try but bear in mind that they may not come true to the parent plant. Keep safe.

Do I need to water everyday while germinating?
@LearnHow24 жыл бұрын
I have some germinating at the moment. The seeds are tiny and will wash away with normal watering so I spray everyday with a fine mist until the compost is moist.

4:13 how long from seed to this stage? Thanks.
@LearnHow24 жыл бұрын
It was about 10 weeks. The seedlings are tiny to start off with and took a long time to get bigger. Maybe it is to do with the cooler climate her in the uk.

Thank you for your video, this year I'm colecting my own seeds and I want to try it. Do you use only compost, nothing else? May I use caw manure and compost from the store or is only compost? Thanks, Godbless you 🙏
@LearnHow22 жыл бұрын
To avoid disease I only use store bought compost for seed germination.

Does seeds need light to germinate
@LearnHow25 жыл бұрын
Most plant seeds only need heat and moisture to germinate however Begonia seeds also need light.

I've tried to plant begonia seeds, straight from the plant. Not the kind you buy from stores, the pelleted kind ...but just the seeds from a begonia plant. I have never had any luck. They seem so hard to plant from seed. I've had great luck with all my other plants, begonias seem to be the only ones so far that I have trouble with. They are easy to propagate though from cuttings.
@LearnHow23 жыл бұрын
Mine took a long time to grow. Thanks for the tip about cuttings. Keep safe.
