How To Grow Calabrese and Broccoli

Hi Sassy Jassy. Thank you for getting in touch. Great to hear you are growing calabrese, it is such a worthwhile crop and one that keeps giving. Make sure you leave the plant in the ground after harvesting the main head, it will keep producing side shoots if you keep cutting them for weeks! An excellent plant. Enjoy your garden! Andrew

Hi quickcrop, could you tell me what is the best way to store Calabrese, i have planted about 15 plants & im a newbie at this but i've had decent results and at the moment i have way more Calabrese than I can eat. Is the fridge the best method to keep them? I tried to store some of the larger leaves in the fridge (they are yummy) but evn by the following day they looked terrible.

Interesting video. What's the size of the holes in the plastic tray? How often do you water the seeds?

The holes are approximately 30mm wide and 50mm deep. We use these trays www.quickcrop.co.uk/product/84-cell-plant-tray-3-pack. Check regularly and only water the seeds when they appear to be drying out, do not overwater.

Calabrese is just as much a broccoli, as the sprouting kind. It is just a different variety. Saying its not broccoli is like saying red cabbage is not cabbage because its red.

Calabrese IS Broccoli, Broccoli is an umbrella name for a few different species.
