Dr. Rhonda Patrick was interviewed on Andrew Huberman's podcast, and they briefly discussed sulforaphane. At one point she was talking about broccoli sprouts and broccoli, and she mentioned that if you cook broccoli, you somewhat lower the sulforaphane levels. As I watch this I am eating a buffalo burger, sauted greens and about a cup of brocolli sprouts. I love them with ACV, lemon juice and EVO. My wife likes them on her salad. I've noticed that I digest them very well. I've been growing them from seed in an Easy Sprout container for about the last 7 weeks (Amazon). We start eating them after about 4 days and they are gone by day 7. I never put them in the fridge. I just take out what I want to eat and let the rest keep growing. Soak, stir and drain twice a day. I think I am going to get another container, so that we have sprouts all week long. Also, I soak them in 158 deg water for 10 minutes to increase the sulforaphane. Dr. Berg's videos have been helpful in the whole process.

Brilliant, thank you Dr.Berg. I have a large tray of broccoli sprouts (in he spare bedroom) growing in an inch of soil almost at micro green level now. I don't like sprout so much as the little seed cases get a bit slimey and can contain harmful.bacteria. Since it is winter I use a cheap little growlight to extend daylight hours. It working a treat.....loads of salad just in one 12" x 1 8" tray.

I Like the Idea that you don't need to eat as much. By The Way I have been applying your advice into my work out program and I am very happy with the results. I can see where we have to be dedicated towards overriding bad eating habits especially carbs and sugar. I have found that fasting 2 to 3 hours longer in the morning along with working out at that time extremely effective. Thanks Doc c];-)

It is so easy to grow your own. Very epensive at the market. I use a baker's sieve and organic heritage seeds. Takes 4 days to get them going, and then let them grow. Ive done them in soil as well. Lovely in salads, on sandwiches -- or just as is. Rhonda Patrick built her career on the study of sulforophane.

I've known about the benefits of sprouts for a long time but procrastinated on having them consistently. I finally decided to get a small 2 jar sprouting kit and it's so easy to produce a lot of sprouts I'm kicking myself for not doing it before now. I'm focusing on broccoli sprouts and lentils which sprout really fast and taste great. I have a lot of inflammation in my body and have been attempting to add beneficial foods to my diet that combat this inflammation. Olive oil, omega 3 fatty acids, turmeric, blueberries, cherries to name a few.

Dr. Berg! I absolutely love and appreciate your videos. I have had health challenges since I was born. Doctors could see things weren't working right, but could not figure out what was going on. Tested for many cancers (of course... it always has to be cancer, right?), MS, Chacot-Marie-Tooth, PANS/PANAS.... it took 14 years to figure it out. During that time, my mom went the holistic route and we worked with a naturpath. During that time, I found microgreens and have grown them since! In 2020, I was doing better, but the world was not. I decided I needed to do what I can to help people understand how easy microgreens are to grow. I created a microgreens kits (most people grow and sell microgreens because there is so much money in it... my mission is to educate and empower people). I would love to do an interview with you to discuss this video. I am now 19 and feel more and more passionate about the power these little veggies have in them. I am also so very greatful for the information you have on all the things that effect the mitochondria. You have been a huge help along my journey to live my best life!

A good tip now to get free seeds for the future: Grow one or two broccoli in your garden and et them flower (pollinators love those flowers) then wait for the seeds to form. Put a bag over and tie it on with an elastic band. You will be shocked by your amazing harvest.

Any chance that I can do this with the organic broccoli I buy at the store ?
@lynnpurfield9430 Жыл бұрын
@@dreamweaver8210 I don't know. Carrot and celery re-grow I know that. Basically, you are buying the flower head aren't you? The carrot and celery re-grow from the chopped off root end. I am guessing you would need the comlete broccoli, roots and all. Worth sticking a couple of florets in soil to see what happens though. They might mature to seed stage.

Oh and one more vitally important thing when buying seed. Make sure they are Broccolli Calabrese and not Broccili Raab which is turnip I think. It is completely different and not real broccoli. Here in UK many sellers do not make that diistionc tion. Broccoli Raab is very cheap so that can be the 'bell ringer' !

I can rely on Dr. Berg to remind me to stop at Krogers on the way home and grab me some broccoli sprouts since I’m not set up to grow my own right now. Sometimes they have clover and alfalfa sprouts also. Maybe radish. Big pharma will try and tell us they’re useless while making a fake drug to achieve the same effects (just not as good) and charging premium + prices.
