So basically, sprouts and microgreens are cheaper and faster to produce, have more nutrients and phytonutrients and fewer antinutrients and cause less inflammation. Consequently, you don't need to eat as many of them as you would need from full-grown vegetables. Unless there is some crazy catch hidden there, I can't see any reason to make some major changes to my salad ingredients from now on. Thanks Dr. Berg!

Dr. Rhonda Patrick was interviewed on Andrew Huberman's podcast, and they briefly discussed sulforaphane. At one point she was talking about broccoli sprouts and broccoli, and she mentioned that if you cook broccoli, you somewhat lower the sulforaphane levels. However, if you put 1 gram of mustard seed powder on your cooked broccoli, it increases the sulforaphane by four-fold. Neat!!

As I watch this I am eating a buffalo burger, sauted greens and about a cup of brocolli sprouts. I love them with ACV, lemon juice and EVO. My wife likes them on her salad. I've noticed that I digest them very well. I've been growing them from seed in an Easy Sprout container for about the last 7 weeks (Amazon). We start eating them after about 4 days and they are gone by day 7. I never put them in the fridge. I just take out what I want to eat and let the rest keep growing. Soak, stir and drain twice a day. I think I am going to get another container, so that we have sprouts all week long. Also, I soak them in 158 deg water for 10 minutes to increase the sulforaphane. Dr. Berg's videos have been helpful in the whole process.

It is so easy to grow your own. Very epensive at the market. I use a baker's sieve and organic heritage seeds. Takes 4 days to get them going, and then let them grow. Ive done them in soil as well. Lovely in salads, on sandwiches -- or just as is. Rhonda Patrick built her career on the study of sulforophane.

I sprout the seeds in a jar as if to harvest as sprouts. When they start to sprout I scatter them over a shallow (2" to 3" ) tray of sterile compost and keep it in the light and indoors in winter. The warmth ofthe house will help them grow quicker. They will get weak and spindly in low light levels such as we have here in UK in winter so a little extra livht may be required.....easy, quick, cheap and super nutritious!!

Yes. The only thing I would advise is, that if you have thyroid issues you may want to limit the amount of the sprouts that you eat. They would be a good way to avoid getting cancer, very powerful and full of nutrients.

Screen lid ? How does that work ?
@gigiwills7851 Жыл бұрын
The screen replaces the little disc part of the lid. Just buy a little screen material from the hardware store and cut it to fit. Or you can use gauze. Just put the gauze over the mouth of the jar and either screw the lid on to hold it down, or use a rubber band.
