I was actually looking for a tea making video on the leaves from the strawberry tree and found your video. I read it’s great for lowering high blood pressure. I think I’m just going to dehydrate some leaves and try my own experiment.

Thank you for describing the leaves and the bark! Bought 2 last year from a nursery in Winter Haven, FL. Only one survived a hurricane. Very fast growers though! Overwintered indoors. Thought the fuzzy bark was fungus or bugs of some sort. Nursery was no help when I asked about it. No website mentions the sticky leaves (which I noticed) and the fuzzy bark so thank you! Also the partial shade. Think I scorched mine.

Thanks! Yes, I love that tree. I now have 3! The Jamaicans use the wood to smoke meats! They bounce right back, but are a short lived tree. Good to have some little ones ready to replace the bigger ones. I would think of this tree more like a forage tree, year round things to harvest, fruit, wood, chop and drop.
