I planted Swiss chard in 2019; I didn’t pull up the roots and the plant grew more Swiss chard leaves in 2020. So fun!

I live in Texas and Swiss chard is the best part of my veggie garden. I have grown these veggies for 3 years now and I know that my oldest plant is actually 3 years old! I didn't know that they had the potential to live that long, but our winters in Dallas are mild. I make yummy salads with the leaves and I also use it in making stir-fry meats and veggies with a mixture of carrots, onions, and whatever other veggies and meat that I have on hand. In the stir fry the chard is the last thing that I add to the skillet. It doesn't need to cook more than a couple of minutes just to pick up some of the flavors in the stir fry.

Unfortunately I misunderstood a "kitchen garden" to mean growing it on your countertop in your Kitche..........nevermind

I’m trying to grow swiss chard for the first time in the Houston area. The seeds sprouted but they haven’t grown more than an inch in 2 weeks. I’m wondering if its the August heat or maybe something else?

I have a Swiss Chard plant and it’s a beast. I’ve never done anything with it, though. What’s the best way to prepare it? Do we eat it raw?
