I'll hopefully upload about 4 more sunflower videos over spring and summer this year.

My son's FAVE😍 I'd like to use that to get him more involved with gardening. Unfortunately, our experience so far leaves him just hating squirrels, since they pretty much destroyed each plant almost each year. Looking forward to what you have to say ...

Sunflowers are great for kids, they are such fast large growing plants that they can see it grow each day when the growth speeds up in summer. I'll mention pests in a later video, although squirrels can be hard to deter, garlic spray, or another scented deterrent might be worth trying as it puts them off eating the plants.

🌻AMAZING!! This is perfect! I am currently growing 3 sunflowers in my apartment! I am so unsure of what I'm doing or what the next steps are. 😁 I have grow lights on them about 10 hours a day, fertilize with coffee grounds and water almost daily. I have absolutely no idea what type they are. I harvested the seeds last summer from a passing flower who's details I can't remember. I must be doing ok as they're currently about 2 feet tall. Thank you for this video! 🌻🌻

They should grow well for you with the grow lights, hopefully it's a short variety otherwise you will need very high ceilings and a lot of grow lamps. If you want faster growth 16 hours of light will speed up their growth, although of course will use more electricity.

I was shocked when I heard some dont create pollen. Apparently it's the cut flower varieties which is sad.
