You are an expert grower no doubt, what a size and colour, truly inspired. Iam regularly following your channel. Iam planning to start DFT in 4 inch PVC pipes. I planted seeds in cocopeat, now if I transplant to DFT channel, the cocopeat falls into the circulating system. Can I uproot the plant and put in net cups with clay balls, please guide how to transplant from cocopeat to NFT/DFT system, I have perlite, vermiculite and clay balls

Sir, following your instructions while growing bottle gourd in coco peat I am getting wonderful result though fruiting is yet to start. I have a small doubt, can we use same recipe while growing vegetables in soil ?

You can but there are fertilizers like Urea, DAP for soil. Also, if you are a hobby gardener then it's best to use vermicompost or cow manure instead of fertilizers

It depends. If plant is very small you may have to water once in two days but if plant is big then twice a day can also be required. Average once a day is needed Quantity also depends upon plant age. If there is confusion you can always water until you see drainage

Seeds ko zyada gehra nahi dabaana hai. Thodi se mitti se hi cover karna hai. Hamesha mitti mein nami rehni chahiye par zyada geela nahi hona chahiye. Seeds germinate hone tak chaaya mein rakhiye aur germinate hote hi full dhoop mein

Yes, Brinjal plant can be grown in DWC if provided proper support but the challenge would be to open the lid of the bucket and taking reading of TDS/pH periodically and also changing reservoir without hurting plants. It becomes tedious. You can rather go for recirculating DWC.... it's a lot better option. 10% run off simply means that you let the water come out of the bottom of the container for a little longer than you would in a soil based container. If you are hand watering, then keep watering slowly for 1 more minute after you see water coming out of the bottom OR if you are using drip irrigation then let the water come out for 5-10 minutes more after you first see it coming out.

Sometimes I flush sometimes I don't. Even if you don't flush plants, things will work out well. If you do flush, then it's best conditions for plants.

Wow ! What a awesome bushy growth. Hydroponics is such a boon for kitchen gardeners, small space to grow such high production plants just like in ground without soil. Few observations: 1)from my experience brinjal seeds even germinate upto 2-3 years after expiry. 2) you really know your seeds quality, this kalash janak is really a popular variety among farmers. I can suggest you more really good ones if you like to try of any vegetable variety (based on my area of farming ). Few doubts: 1) do i need to consider my water tds also when counting nutrient strength ? I am using tap water whose tds is between 140-150ppm. For eg. Now when you guide us to keep the tds to 500ppm , is it pure tds of nutrients only exclusive water tds or including the water tds which would be 150(water)+ 350(nutrient). I am really confused with this one. 2)Have you ever tried set and forget kratky method to compare result with cocopeat one ? As kratky is low maintenance method. 3) Can you share any link where we can learn about the nutrition strength required by different vegetables at different stages in ppm as most of foreign books explain in EC reading and i only tds meter not EC. Thanks again for such great content. Nobody except you make easy to understand good hydroponics in india 🙏

Yes. Some seeds do germinate well post expiry and I have done the same with tomato and cauliflower this year (1) Sure, please suggest good varieties of brinjal (2) If I say 500 ppm then it means including tap water TDS. If your tap water is 150 ppm then 350 should come from nutrients to form 500 ppm TDS (3) I have tried Kratky and it works really well with leafy greens than it does with longer duration vegetables (4) There are not many websites suggesting the same as you have asked. Even i feed my plants by looking at them and trying to understand them as per local conditions. If i come across a website which clearly mentions stage wise nutrition then i will surely share with you.

@@smgardener some varities you can try - -Brinjal- 1)Sungro Navkiran(dark blue bharta variety) 2) kalash rajat 1229 brinjal(long black) 3) nath nbh-442/acsen hyveg nano (small black chuchu size) 4) east west bharta (bharta brinjal black) Chilli- 1) kalash magadheera(best one with very virus tolerant, mildy pungent, high yielding) 2) laxmi input nandini (tikhi, patli and high yield , high virus tolerance) 3) kalash 1234 chilli(not very pungent, long thick chilli) Tomato(to be sown from sep oct) 1) kalash sultan 2) east west rani If you're interested in some other good vegetable variety, do let me know.
