Strangely I have found it is not necessary to deadhead my anemonies unless you want it looking tidy, which I don't but beautifully made vid many thanks

I have these in my garden ..partial shade...they have started to take over..they grew under my patio stone walk and the roots are very big...i had to move the patio stone to dig them up....i'm in Canada by Lake Huron.. half way down it....they don't flower until July and then don't last very long so i'll try the snipping off of the part you mentioned...can i grow them in a container so they can't move all over my garden and kill my other plants.

I dont see why not . They may not flower as well . Some of ours do this to they can be very vigorous once they get going

May I ask what to do when all the flowers turn down to the ground? I cannot support them all with sticks. 😊
@gardenerscottageblakeney13166 ай бұрын
We just let them do their thing . Maybe check if they need watering .

@@gardenerscottageblakeney1316 I'm not sure the drought was the issue but the stems grow to tall. Could I maybe cut around this period the first stems out of the plant so maybe the following stems with the flowers won't grow so tall?
@gardenerscottageblakeney13166 ай бұрын
@@anitamarskamp that may work the other thing to consider is providing them with a little support . It may be that they are growing tall to reach the light. When we grew them on a north wall they grew very tall indeed and we supported them with a plant support which worked well.

We just cut the dead sections back and dead head . I think if you did a Chelsea chop you might not get as much flower but let us know if you have found it works

Japanese anemone not sure which variety this is as we planted them a long time ago and have lost labels

Cam you take cuttings of these

A much easier way is to look for new plants emerging from root runners around established plants and pot these up. I have never seen them grown from cuttings
