How to grow lucky bamboo from cuttings

How to grow lucky bamboo from cuttings. The easiest and fastest way to propagate new plants is by taking a cutting from a healthy stalk. After you remove an offshoot from the main stalk, you remove the leaves and place the offshoot in water until it grows roots of its own. From there, you can continue growing the new lucky bamboo in water, or transplant it to soil to continue growing. Luckily, propagating lucky bamboo is easy and doesn’t take much time.
1. Remove the lucky bamboo stalks from their container. Take the lucky bamboo from its container and remove any wire that’s holding the stalks together. Gently comb through the roots with your fingers to separate them, and then separate all the stalks.Pour the water from the container into a colander to drain the water and catch the pebbles.
2. Choose a healthy stalk with a long offshoot. The parent lucky bamboo stalk should have at least 2 nodes, which are the lines separating the lucky bamboo stalk into segments. Once you’ve identified the healthy, long stalks, look for a good offshoot. The offshoot should be 4 to 6 inches (10 to 15 cm) long, and should be dark green and growing from 1 of the upper nodes.
3. Trim off the offshoot. Use a sharp knife or pair of small pruning shears to carefully cut the offshoot from the parent bamboo stalk. Trim the offshoot as close to the stalk as possible. Then, use the shears or knife to trim off an additional 1⁄4 inch (0.64 cm) from the bottom to make a straight cut.
4. Remove the bottom sets of leaves of the lucky bamboo plant. Use your fingers to gently peel off the bottom sets of leaves from the cutting. Leave at least 1 set of leaves at the top intact. Removing the bottom leaves will redirect the plant’s energy to producing roots.
5. Place the lucky bamboo cutting in a jar filled with distilled water. Fill a mason jar or other glass jar with 4 inches (10 cm) of distilled or bottled water. Put the lucky bamboo cutting in the water with the cut end in the bottom of the glass. The cutting shouldn’t be completely submerged. If you have more than 1 cutting, you can put them all in the same jar.
6. Place the cutting in indirect sunlight for a month. Transfer the cutting to a bright location that’s protected from direct sunlight. As the cutting sits in the water, it will begin to grow roots of its own. Eventually, you'll be able to plant or grow the lucky bamboo cutting as its own plant. The rooting process will take about 30 days.
7. Replace the water weekly. Once a week, hold the lucky bamboo stalk in place and dump out the water from the jar. Replace the water with fresh distilled or bottled water. This will prevent the water from stagnating. As necessary, add more water to the jar to replace what’s evaporated or been absorbed by the growing plant.

Cool video............but I have one issue with the technique. (2:00) One thing I would not recommend is dipping your clone cuts into the actual bottle of the rooting stimulant. You do not want to dip the stem/cut into the bottle because the stem could be contaminated with a virus or fungus and then it gets into the bottle and ruins the whole thing (if the root stimulant is watery, throw it away because its no good). You should always pour your root stimulant into a shot glass or small tube container to keep contamination out the original bottle.

I wondered if this would work so bought two lucky bamboo stalks 6 inches tall. Cut the stalks off and did as instructed. I also cut the main stems into 3 sections. After a month I had 17 small lucky bamboos. This was months ago. I’ve since taken my initial purchased two stalks and turned it into 1709 lucky bamboos. Wasn’t expecting this to be so addictive 😂🥰

Now see I didn't get to see all the top with the candle wax because my lucky bamboo had actually mostly died away so I tried to grab the greenest pieces I could and trim the bottom off of it after watching a couple videos and then basically just stuck them back into a pot and it seems like they have taken because they are no longer able to be pulled out of the dirt that I put them in. They've got a tight seal and I'm pretty excited about it. Do you think I'm going to have a lot of luck with these? I mean I'm not saying all of them have taken to the dirt but a majority have. I can't show a picture here unfortunately but now that I see that they're taking, I wish I would have spaced them out a bit more in the dirt. I will give them a little bit more time and maybe transplant them to a different container?

If I take a 15 inch long healthy lucky bamboo with just one shoot (around 2 inches) and cut this one plant into 4 pieces, leaving the existing shoot on, seal the tops with wax, place rooting hormone on the bottom of each on these 4 cut pieces and put them in water as you mention; will they grow new roots becoming 4 healthy lucky bamboo stalks with new shoot eventually?
