Learn how to grow nectarines from seeds. Buy nectarines from a grocery store and use their pits to grow nectarine plants at home, as I have grown in Sydney, Australia. It takes 2 to 4 years for a nectarine tree to bear fruit from seed. To grow a nectarine tree from seed, you first crack open the pits and take out the seeds and then germinate the nectarine seeds. You may also grow nectarine from seeds by directly sowing the seeds in soil but the seeds may not germinate as they require proper stratification before sprouting. The method shown here ensures 100% success for growing nectarine tree from seeds.

I have germinated this plant from this method, but after struggling two winters, the plant was not survived. Simultaneously, I directly sowed in the ground, and after the snow and winter, all of my 10 seeds were germinated, and since then, the seedlings have been growing very strongly, and growth is almost two feet tall. What is my experience, I noticed that the paper method is not always sustainable for most of the time.

Hi there, I am growing 3 nectarine plants at the moment around 6 months old since germination, they are all a few inches high maybe triple the size and length of the one in your small plant pot towards the end. Please tell me how to take care of them to reach the large nectarine plant you show with the fruits, do I just keep watering, feeding with plant food/fertiliser, and repot when I think necessary? Autumn is fast approaching and I've noticed my nectarine plants haven't been growing as much, I just don't want them to die when winter hits. Please share any help you can, thank you 🙏
@GardenTricks

Add cow manure in the doil do that it grows well. Feed liquid fertilizer every 15 days in Spring to Summer. Transfer in a bigger pot when necessary. Put a thick layer of sugarcane mulch. Water only when top one inch soil gets dry. Keep in full sun. In winter, it will drop all the leaves. Keep the pot under cover if too low temperature.

@@GardenTricks Thank you so much for your advice! 🙏❤ Should I put the sugarcane mulch at the bottom of the pot, or mix with soil? And what do you suggest I cover the pots with in winter? Do I cover the entire plant? Thank you again, you're saving my plants!
@GardenTricks

@@Vinsomer Just put mulch on the soil do not mix in soil. Over time, it will decompose and merge in soil. You should cover only if you have snow in your area, otherwise just move the pot in garrage or covered area.

Hello there, it's me again! I know you mentioned in winter that the nectarine plants drop all their leaves, I take it that it's normal then? Will it be okay if it's just a stem with no leaves? My plants which are growing indoors are rapidly beginning to lose their leaves as we go into Autumn cold temperatures. Just wondering if I should be worried, I've closed the window they are next to and am just trying to keep them alive, the stem is green, upright, and strong, so I am hopeful 🍑

@@GardenTricks Hello again, I was wondering if I should worry about my nectarine plants as it's winter right now and some of them are looking a little brown and withered at the top. I'm afraid it will spread downwards! The stem still seems strong and upright, but the colour and appearance is concerning me. I water the plants with warm water only when soil seems dry, and only feed them once every 4-5 weeks now as they should be dormant and not need food/fertiliser much. I keep them on my closed window sill and give them 6 hours of LED light a day, in addition to natural sunlight. The room is relatively warm and there are no heat sources. I'm just wondering if I'm doing something wrong, or if I need to cut the brown tips off my plants or something. Your expertise would be appreciated 🙏
