mine too ! ive got the bug, i put 2 appal pips in a pot and they are growing ,i also did the same with 2 conkers and the conkers are 9in high now . to say i am buzzing is a understatement.

When you put the seeds in the plastic container for the fridge do you seal the container or just lay the lid on the top. Thanks I had no idea that the seed was inside I would have planted the pit whole right out of the cherry. Thanks for the good information.

I put the seed in a paper towel when I crack it to prevent it from going everywhere-I think I saw someone else do this. Previously I was searching the floor for seeds and pieces

Do you have to water the seeds while they’re in the refrigerator? I have tried this method with apple seeds and the paper dries out and the apple seeds don’t sprout.

I’ve seen other videos, not use the fridge, because technically, they were already cold stratified, when bought at the store because they were already refrigerated. They will germinate within a week or so.

In my experience, you don't usually have to. It doesn't hurt to check, but you basically create a closed ecosystem so the water can't escape.

I put a bunch of seads on the fridge two weeks ago today and a bunch are already showing signs of growth. Do they need to stay in the full 2-3 months to keep growing? Will they die if I take them out early?

@@jahone694 I left them in until the roots were long. I also took out the ones that were only long enough to have a small curve to the root. Just a few days after I took them out they all started to sprout. They will grow as long as there is a defined root growing from the seed even if its quite small. Quite a few of them died from their roots getting mushy and then my dirt got bugs in it so I only have 3 left right now. I also grew three healthy peach trees the same way. I also didn't have a proper setup yet so they didn't get proper sun for a while. They needed a lot more sun than they were getting by my east facing window. I found you get a much better result if you put thim in wet dirt and cinnamon instead of a wet paper towel and cinnamon when they need to stay in the fridge. So many got moldy with the paper towel and I didn't see any significant progress in growth until I put them in dirt. Just make sure to check on them often and to aerate the soil regularly.

I used the sharp pliers to only make a small hole snipping off just the end of the pit. Then I used cuticle clippers to do the rest since they are sharp and thin they can get in-between the seed and the pit good without causing unwanted damage.
