New subscriber, but not new to the channel. Been watching a couple years now, and gotta say that I love the detailed information you and your team put out there. Ever since I was a kid, I've only seen does and yearling bucks. Over the past three years, I've greatly increased the number and age class of bucks that I see on every sit, and even have managed to Harvest 1 or 2 3 and 4 year old bucks, which our king in our area, every season since watching your channel. Took a long time to realize that access is just as important as wind. I learned that from you, and I greatly appreciate everything that yall do!

Been watching for years now, nice to see your humorous side come out! Great video as always! I hunted three states last year, yooperland, Wisconsin, Oklahoma. Each area is exactly what you're saying when it comes to relativity. UP I'm happy with a 3 year old. Wisconsin too. Oklahoma is your fantasy land with non typical bucks 10-20 pointers walking around not pressured.

We all no how people are. You didn’t have to go on a rant Jeff. I’m in pa hunt public land and a 3 year old is a trophy here. But I did make a licking branch this year and it was unbelievable how much every deer hit it, but it was weird they quit using it during hunting season. They actually made a real scrape on a over hanging oak tree right next to it and scraped that instead. It was kinda weird and surprised me. But I’m still learning but your strats work and can’t be denied no matter what state your in

Your videos have helped me see more bucks. This year especially I hunted less times with things such as wind and weather as a big focus. Not that I didn't know these things but this year I really focused on it. I was completely disciplined in that respect more than ever even leaving if the wind shifted once. I also focused on hunting natural funnels as I hunt exclusively on public land. I didn't end up getting a buck during the archery season but, again, I did see more bucks than I ever have in one season. Thanks for the help and keep up the great videos.

Haha...rant/call out whatever you want to label it was well deserved, you provide valuable insight that if listened to, evaluated for your area, applied either straightforward or modified WORKS! I can say at least for me it has! I loved your other video where it advised "be critical of 2021" and adjust 2022 accordingly. It was spot on for me, I didn't get my major target buck although I did get a nice substitute. So I have to evolve and adjust and will continue to follow for advice. Keep going keeping on sir! Jeff & Dylan Usually I watch each of your videos 2 or 3 times. There is that much quality insight in them. I am doing my best to incorporate your advice into my little 28 acre parcel. One question - about how much distance would you figure I need to have between my house and where I would hope the bucks would bed? My house is at the corner of a roughly rectangular plot with my food plot at the diagonally opposite corner. Is it reasonable to hope a buck would be inclined to bet between the house and the food plot - its about 400 yards? My access is along the two long borders. THANKS FOR THE GREAT CONTENT - i AM LEARNING A LOT! JMC

@ccrates253 жыл бұрын
Thanks for all the great content and information Jeff! With all of the books you have written, blogs you have posted, and videos you have made if I could only pick one piece of advice to follow, it would be to limit hunting to only the best days. This has made by far the biggest difference for me. 1. Now I don’t feel bad about not hunting on a sub-optimal day just because I have the time available. If it’s an unseasonably warm Saturday in October? Great, take the wife on a road trip antiquing and out to eat. 2. I’m not going out on a bad days and getting disappointed when I don’t see any deer. 3. When the good days do roll around, I’m fresh and ready for success as opposed to burnt out and frustrated.

Thank you for your generosity and insights on how to get the most out of your hunts - the time and commitment that you’ve given to hunters for free for years is absolutely appreciated and your successes are hard earned and well deserved! Making even one KZbin video is work, let alone over 200 / year. Some people would rather bash someone else and try and knock them down over put that work in themselves- don’t give them that power or attention! I do have a question Jeff, I know it's probably not the best video to ask it but I thought of it while I was watching the video. I have been looking and searching for the answer and can't find it. When I am gun hunting (hunting period) I go through the whole process of being scent free as possible with Elimishield and always spray religiously on my self and gear. Whenever you clean your gun, the cleaning products smell very strong to me much less a deer. My question is, do I need to spray my gun as well? and is it detrimental to the gun's lifespan?

Hey Jeff. I live in Northeast Mississippi. I have 300+- acres. 2/3 mature mixed hardwood with lots of undergrowth and 1/3 is 15 yr old pine. This may be too broad of a question. Thanks !

You drilled it buddy. Also wanted to add that although the age bracket that is perceived to be the top buck in your area depending on hunting pressure, environment, etc..may be one thing..you still could improve that..get out n your community and talk w fellow hunters, start a QDMA n your area, improvements to ur habitat area.. May be a slow process but change can happen to improve your area and the age of your mature bucks
