Honestly I just let my hair do its thing I don’t pick it out I just wash it every week and try not to get it wet and let it kind of nap up which seems to help it grow faster cause when your hair is smushed together you don’t really see how fast it grows and you want pay it as much attention and the days continues

Bro I had a similar journey early on. I wanted two strand twist & braids so bad. That honestly messed me up now bc I got braided with cornrows after only 5 months & I didn’t finish growing out the back after much after cutting it. It got chopped in the fade for the braids to look good 😭😭😭 I wasn’t disappointed by the braids but I was at the site of losing that back progress. My question for my self is should I grow out the back fade now. I just made 11 months growing my hair. My side taper not bad. It’s mid-low. I’m concerned about the back bc it’s higher than I imagine since my hair is so long now. It covers it well

It depends, you could either do a mid/low taper fade. Or you could do ask for a mid/low fade and ask to leave the top. I think most people who want braids and twists usually go for taper fades, but if you want something like Kai Cenat has, he does the mid/low fade while leaving the top.
