there are a few scented Paphs. If you can find it, hangianum is the one to get. easily the most fragrant of all the known species. It grows in deep shade, wants a cold dry winter and a warm to hot wet summer, so provided you can keep it dry in the winter it should be possible for you to grow outdoors.

Lovely video, Matthew! I enjoy your ramblings, even if they are the ramblings of an amateur, as the way you weave in your own story with them and the research you do adds a lot of personality to these videos. I'm very happy that this Paphiopedilum bloomed for you! Perhaps I should get a Maudiae-type for myself sometime, those blooms are spectacular.

Exquisite.... i love paphs with this type of leaf, just got into terrestrial orchid a month ago, bought myself a paphiopedilum and acanthephipium, the acanthe already growing 2 offset, the paphs seem tobe taking its time...😂

I've never heard of Acanthophippium! What an interesting flower!

Hi Matthew. I'm told that Paphiopedilum delenatii is fragrant and smells of roses. I've recently added one to my collection but don't expect a bloom until next year. Paphiopedilum concolor is also supposed to have a fragrance; mine is in bud so I'll find out in the next month or so. The hybrid Paphiopedilum Mrs White aka Krulls Glacier does a a fragrance. It's not strong but it is there and it is pleasant. Happy growing. P.S. I'm on the South coast of England.

Thank you! Seems there's a few fragrant ones - just finding them here is tricky!

Hi Matthew. Loved the video living vicariously through you. I tried a total of 12 Paphs, and sad to say they are no longer in existence. I live in S Florida USA so I am not sure if my climate is good for this orchid. You are hilarious.
