Always a good idea to plant your plants in prewatered soil. I've found that it can take a while for the soil to get evenly wet, and my plants tend not to do as well if planted in dry soil and only then watered. I guess the roots don't like it. A lot like how a bowl of cereal takes a while until it gets soggy.

ALTHOUGH I live in the NorthEastern U.S., and I DID actually attempted before, but failed after the dirt pot step, as it grew fungus sadly, about half a year of attempting to grow it, and failed. But hopefully it does not happen this time!!!! (Also do not got fertilizer, but I believe it will still grow, just it'll take longer time and less likely chance of flowering. But I do not mind.) Good luck, everyone!!!!

I had no idea those things in the fruit were the seeds. Thanks for the tip. Time for me to get busy and fill my greenhouse with these. There are always people wanting pineapple plants. You don't need to root them in water. I twist the crown off the pineapple, remove the lower leaves, and it goes straight into a 1 gallon nursery pot and in my greenhouse (to keep the wind from blowing it over. South Texas is very windy).

please tell me from seed to plant when you put seeds in a box temperature for it minimum aur maximum and when 1st time covered up till seed converted into a plant can we open for water ?? again and can it grow up 45°C in summer and in winter 5°C to 20°C??? i love pineapple so much and here in PAKISTAN it is import from Indonesia and Thailand in cuttings slices box..
@TonysExploration

Well, is going to very difficult journey. If you have a few plants, and took the necessary steps during the summer and winter, maybe you can successful. If you talking about farming, then I dont think is feasible.

perhaps you left Abit of the fruit on the crown that little nub contains sugar which is hospitable to bacteria and mould. cut it off so you leave only the plant, no traces of fruit when getting the roots to grow.
