Yes yes, thank you for this sacred information. I want to comment that I am recently moving towards plastic-free gardening, and I'm finding it very rewarding. I use terracotta pots, halved eggshells (placed in their cartons) for small seed starting, I even make small pots out of folded cardboard. Witnessing the incredible biodegradability of all of Earth's natural components, I am in awe every day. Best to you.

Totally agree ... I use terracotta pots too. Unlike plastic pots there is no extra water retention the porous clay pot walls regulate the temperature and good for roots as well. I also started painting the border of the clay pots with little leaves and swirls, the decor is very satisfying
@dawnbern29174 жыл бұрын
And, terracotta is recyclable it can be ground down to a powder and reformed into pots or Spanish tile roofs! I love the old ways that we managed to survive, thrive, and distribute goods without plastic.

Thanks Jag , I was looking for the way to get the seed .I knew it was not anardana (dry seed use in cooking)☺ Also this tree is mentioned in the Quran. Pomegranates are mentioned three times in the Qur’an: As one of the fruits that will be found in paradise: “In both of them [gardens] are two springs, spouting […]In both of them are fruit and palm trees and pomegranates. So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?” (Quran, 55:66-69). 2.As a God's sustenance on Earth: “And He it is who produces gardens (of vine), trellised and untrellised, and palms and seed-produce of which the fruits are of various sorts, and olives and pomegranates, like and unlike; eat of its fruit when it bears fruit, and pay the due of it on the day of its reaping, and do not act extravagantly; surely He does not love the extravagant.” (Quran, 6:141) And as a sign of his artistry, “And it is He who sends down rain from the sky, and We produce thereby the growth of all things. We produce from it greenery from which We produce grains arranged in layers. And from the palm trees - of its emerging fruit are clusters hanging low. And [We produce] gardens of grapevines and olives and pomegranates, similar yet varied. Look at [each of] its fruit when it yields and [at] its ripening. Indeed in that are signs for a people who believe.” (Quran, 6:99) Indeed these are the signs of the existence of the Creator and the Sustainer...AR Rubb

It is written: Your shoots are an orchard of pomegranates with all choicest fruits, henna with nard, 14 nard and saffron, calamus and cinnamon, with all trees of frankincense, myrrh and aloes, with all choice spices- -Song of Solomon 4:13-14 And: “You shall make the robe of the ephod all of blue. 32 It shall have an opening for the head in the middle of it, with a woven binding around the opening, like the opening in a garment, so that it may not tear. 33 On its hem you shall make pomegranates of blue and purple and scarlet yarns, around its hem, with bells of gold between them, 34 a golden bell and a pomegranate, a golden bell and a pomegranate, around the hem of the robe. 35 And it shall be on Aaron when he ministers, and its sound shall be heard when he goes into the Holy Place before the Lord, and when he comes out, so that he does not die. -Exodus 28:31-35 Jesus, our great High Priest, Who is our right standing before God, is represented in the pomegranates on the hem of the high priest's garment. And just as the pomegranate is crushed to release the juice that becomes joy-giving wine (Song of Solomon 8:2), the judgment that we earned was placed on Him instead by the Father and we, by faith in that finished work and Who Jesus is, receive the Blessing that we could never earn. (Matthew 9:20-22) As it is written: But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds we are healed. -Isa. 53:5 "And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” -Acts 4:12

@@NMW80 nah, I picked it up at a Walmart during the end of one summer and it looked pretty dead, and on clearance for like $10 or so. It was only in a 1 gallon pot and small. Took it home, cut back all the dead looking branches, and repotted it in a 3 gallon, and kept it under a T-8 light for the winter. After that it's grown to about 3 or 4 feet tall and repotted it again in a 35gal pot over the years. Last year it had one flower, this year their were a ton, but a huge storm came thru and knocked of like 90% of them :(. Hopefully this next spring will be better.

I grew a whole cell tray from seed last spring. I didn't realise how easy they are to grow. I trimmed the tops once they got to a certain height, and now they're growing both tall and bushy. I don't know what I'm doing, but they're happy! I keep them in the greenhouse (unheated), during winter, and they lose their leaves, just like big trees and the leaves come back in the spring. I lost some, as I got busy and didn't get round to watering, but as I had over 100, it was okay! I'm about to do another batch, because they're more popular than I realised. I've also grown passion fruit from seed, the same way.

Just a note. If you intend to plant the seeds immediately there is no need to do a two day drying process. You can clean the seeds and make sure all of the pulp is off and immediately plant them. No need to dry. You only need to dry if you intend to store the seeds over long-term to prevent them from molding.

I know that full-grown mango trees are in the same family as poison oak , but it's not the same with pomegranate I imagine. Thanks! And yes, I'm aware that mangoes are not in the same family, I grew lemongrass one time from seed and it gave me a light skin reaction so I'm glad to ask this if it's alright.
