Thank you for this video, very helpful. I was wondering about thinning, I read below, you said the weak plants will die on their own, hand thinning can help.. But how do you seperate them in a container that large? My ultimate goal is a hanging basket or two. I will probably need to address my soil situation as well, all I have is Miracle Grow with fert. I have some peat pots that I would guess are the best bet? Probably 10 seeds in each, then plant 2 or 3 of the pots in a basket when they are ready? How deep would you recommend the planter be? I have the Moss Rose variety.

Dakota Lally thank you for your comment. 😊😊after 15-20 days you can transplant them by picking them individually from the seedling pot or container......you can also use seedling tray to sow the seeds and in each hole you can sow 2-3 seeds .......you can use any well drained soil for them as they can tolerate many kinds of soil but prefers sandy, well drained soil for that mix some amount of fine sand in the potting mix....when planting the seeds it is not necessary to cover the seeds at all and if covered only very lightly as they need sun to sprout n grow......use rectangular or oval pots which are 6-10 inch deep..you can also use shallow pots they will grow just fine😊😊🤗🤗...plant different colour plants in the same pot for strikingly vibrant coloured blooms ....takecare happy gardening

Ryan Willis thank u sir for your comment.😊☺....after 2 weeks you can thin seedlings which are weak and leggy ....but in case of portulaca or moss rose only 60-70 % seedlings survive ....all weak plants will die by its own ....but you can also thin them by hand so that they can receive all the proper growth requirements (moisture, nutrients, light, etc.) without having to compete with other seedlings. When you thin seedlings, you're also helping to improve the air circulation around them.
