I am so grateful for your videos! They are terrifically to the point, informative, humble, creative, and edited superbly. I've struggled with radishes in my raised beds. They always seem to be out-competed, covered in straw mulch, or bothered by pill bugs/slugs. I'm trying your method today with rubbermaid food totes that are the same depth but about 1/2 the surface area as I don't think I can get through that many radishes. I'd very much appreciate knowing what other veggies that you've had success growing in the same depth containers. Thank you, Hollis and Nancy!!!

Very nice video. First-time gardener here with only a 5metre x 1metre east-facing balcony - better than nothing, though! My radishes just produced leaves, I honestly had no idea about the fertalising! Seems that 'less is more' for radishes! Live and learn, though! I don't expect to get everything right first time. I'll give them another try in the autumn with this video as a guide.

We love growing radishes! The little bitty ones always yield plenty even though we give them 0 care. I think the weather has been a little funky this year (zone 9B). hey y'all I love your videos. I am watching all kind of y 'all's videos even 3-4 years ago. Esp the radishes and bok choi. You are very consistent and informative great casual flow. I see the filling of trays with soil and then watered well lift and drop tapping to get soil tight then place seeds close them up. Then y'all say we will check them in 10 days. ? Question are you watering them or using the initial water and rain in place of watering to not overwater during the 10 days? thank y'all for being here and helping so many folks

Love your Blessed Day videos and this one on radishes is awesome and will try it for sure. I do have one small question. You mentioned adding one part peat and two parts potting mix. Is your peat the 40 lb bag already mixed or is it those big hard bails from the nursery which I believe are called Sphagnum peat? Thanks from a Michigan Dirt Farmer.

Hi Hollis, my first attempt at growing radishes were a disaster because I didn’t go by your soil recipe. I tried the watermelon, French breakfast purple and another but can’t remember. This time I’ll be using your recipe but not sure which you think is best. know you have for this one 1 part peat , 2 parts potting soil. And you have one with black cow, potting and peat. Which one do you think is the best based on the radishes I listed above. My failure had maybe 1/3 inch radish width above ground but no root growth at all with any of the seeds. They were all Johnny seeds so I know they were good quality. What do you think? Please Hellllllp! lol

@kagnewmp125 жыл бұрын
My question to you is a simple one. Do you pre moisten the peat before you mix it with the potting soil. I've heard that if you don't the peat will just absorb the water before the potting soil can give it to the roots.
