God bless. You made my morning. We grow these eggplants. I couldn't stand these for years. Meet my wife 20 years ago in Singapore and she started cooking them. I've gradually grown to like them, and they are good for you. Three plants supply us with enough... You give me an idea. I'm going to start a few in some 5-gallon buckets and give to some friends with limited space and income and help them get started with their gardening.

Hi hollis and nancy! Im in upstate NY. I tried your method this year(although i forgot the bone meal) and these are the best crop of eggplant I've ever had in 50 years of gardening! Black beauty seed, ate the first one today, about 4 months from starting the seed. Delicious! The plants are loaded with fruit and blossoms. I'll have so many to share. I'm gonna do lots more container gardening using your knowledge. Thank you!

I love roasted eggplant. I'll use either kind. Don't have the salt the thinner ones to get excess moisture out like the thicker ones. It also tastes great in sinigang (Filipino sour soup and my most favorite food; Lee doesn't like it, but our son Daniel loves it).
