What is a cheap domain I can setup pixels and verify for I tried Wordpress but they wanted like 300 dollars to integrate the pixel man
@AndrewSouthworth2 жыл бұрын
Either domain.com or godaddy. Its like $20/year. Wordpress is actually a website platform, not a domain provider, so that must have been the cost for a year of web hosting which is normal. But you don't need a website for your ads, just the domain.

Hey Andrew! Great video as usual, I've been waiting for this one for a long time. I'm actually running ads for a playlist and I'm getting a good cost per new follower. However, followers aren't the end all be all of playlists, it is the number of streams at the end of the day. How do you get followers that will really listen to your playlist (good retention rate) and come back to the playlist regularly ? Did you notice differences between your playlists in terms of streams per followers ratio ? Thanks a lot for you help!
@AndrewSouthworth2 жыл бұрын
Yeah some playlists i'd notice would have a deeper listen rate, meaning more songs listened to in the playlist in one sitting, others may have a higher recall rate where people keep listening to the playlist more over time, others may have a higher follow rate. So you can kind of pick and choose which thing you find most valuable and invest the most into that. So if you run FB ads on 3 different playlists for example, after 3 weeks compare all the data, followers, cost per follower, listeners vs streams, how deep people listened in the playlist, how the stream rate changed over time, you can find out the winner and then ditch the other 2 playlists if you want.

@@AndrewSouthworth what are rules of thumb for , what's a good cost per follower? and what would be considered a good stream/follower ratio. I.e. for every 1000 followers of a playlist, how many streams does the playlist get daily?

Great video Andrew! I'm going to start doing this soon as well. When you want to spend 10$/day, and make 4 duplicate ads like in your video, will this 10$ be divided between the 4 ads, or will you pay 40$ ?
@AndrewSouthworth2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! It would be divided between everything inside the campaign, as long as you're defining your budget at the campaign level and not the ad set level.

Hey Andrew! Im on your spotify course, Julio Gomez. I have a question for this video. Is there a reason why you say "And I wouldn't advise doing this 100% of the time compared to promoting your music by itself"? Why not stick to this rather than the song itself?
@AndrewSouthworth10 ай бұрын
You end up with a bunch of playlist followers, but not many saves or playlist adds on your actual songs. Also you don't get many Spotify profile followers when people listen from a playlist either. The tradeoff is you get more streams per listener.

Has anyone here used music that they didn't own the copyright for in the ad? I'm assuming this is against the terms of service, but I've seen playlist ads on Ads Library that use pretty popular songs. While my own music is solid, there are probably better options to use among other songs on my playlist.

Andrew, I see a completely different "create new campaign" wizard, so can't replicate what you are doing. I see three columns of options, "Awareness", "Consideration" and "Conversion". Engagement is under Consideration, and when I select that, I get no options to set the campaign conversion on the ad set. Is there are away to change to new campaign dialog wizard you are using, or what should I pick in the 3-column set up?

You'd want to pick conversions. Half of my ad accounts are on the new system and half are on the older one you have.

Hi Andrew please do we always have to target SPOTIFY in the audience aspect in order to ensure we get listeners who use Spotify?

You don’t always have to include that, it’s just to increase the probability that they have Spotify. You could also target for Apple, Amazon etc.

Hey Andrew, so if I understand correctly, we can only measure a conversion of a person who clicks on spotify in our gate. Can we also track the actual “following” of the playlist? Otherwise we can only guesstimate cost per new follower.
@AndrewSouthworth Жыл бұрын
We can't track the actual follow action on Spotify unfortunately. The way I calculate cost per follower is with a spreadsheet. Not perfect because there could be organic stuff happening but with a new playlist you can be fairly confident 99% or more is coming from your ads.

Hey Andrew!! Amazing info as always. Quick question, did you use your own song on the ads? Can you use another more popular artist's music or would that probably get you flagged?

I've always either used my own music, or in some cases music i've licensed through Artlist. I know people who will use popular songs and have gotten away with it, but its definitely not allowed so I wouldn't do it.

Because on facebook I see that my pixel is sending information back to hypedit and I don't know what info is sending back. Thanks.
@AndrewSouthworth2 жыл бұрын
Yeah their pixel is on their website and I believe collecting data for every smart link. ToneDen does the same thing. I would assume they could use this to make retargeting or lookalike audiences.

@@AndrewSouthworth @Andrew Southworth @Andrew Southworth so will it be better to have your own webpage and set your fb pixel there? the reason I say this is because I ran 2 campaigns with the my fb pixel and hypedit and I started to grow but later everything began to decrease very strangely. Hey Andrew! Love all the value you provided :) Was wondering 2 things: 1. Did you get organic growth from the playlists being advertised or barely any from people searching "workout music" etc? If so, do you intentially add keywords to your descriptions to potentially rank or is that a coincidence? 2. Your playlists are crazy big congratz! How much would you say it costed you for around ~1000 followers or so on average from running these ads for these playlists? Thanks so much you're the bomb.

@m.x.xofficial2 жыл бұрын
the pixel will notice if someone had clicked on the ad and is on the landingpage. It also get response from the landingpage if someone has clicked on the spottifylink (or whatever your landingpage is containing). Facebook needs the data so it can calculate a cost per result (the click on the playlist link from the landinpage = conversion)
@JoaoOrmeno2 жыл бұрын
Excellent video, thanks for sharing, however I still have a doubt, wouldn't it be good if the ad link is the same playlist on spotify? I understand that they send it to their own page to optimize the pixel, but would it also work to send it directly to the spotify playlist?

You don't have to do it to start, you just won't be able to run ads to most iOS users. You can still have a great performing campaign with plenty of results at a reasonable cost without doing it. However if you do it you'll likely do better.
