Yes just like Florida we have to find heat loving plants some tropical plants maybe depends on your zone.❤ thanks for this info about strawberries… strawberries can be perennial here if they are shaded enough

That was so helpful. I’m in central Texas and a new Gardner I have left over strawberry plants in my green stalk. Now I know how to better take care of them. I am a new subscriber. I recently saw your video about your recent surgery. I hope you are healing and doing well. Keep up the good work.

I started some red and yellow Wonder strawberries from seed. Most went into pots, but I’m adding the rest to my green stalk. They’re such a cute and tasty strawberry. I’m just north of Houston.

Most varieties that are suited for the south are not grown from seed but from runners of love plants. What varieties of seeds did you get if you don't mind me asking?

In SE TX. I just put my strawberries back in the ground from being in a greenstalk. I have to leave them for a while in the summer and they just get, for me, too hot and dry. Good luck.

That makes total sense! You're probably a bit warmer than me regularly but only time will tell if regular irrigation and shade will make a difference. Otherwise they will go in a bed!

I am in south central Texas and was wondering about using rabbit manure as fertilzer on strawberries.

@@karenwhite155 it's a great option, just don't over do it!

Do l need to water them through the winter?
@fromthegardenchannelКүн бұрын
Only when soil dries out. Use the knuckle test to check if weekly you aren't getting any precipitation

Where did you buy the plants?
@fromthegardenchannelКүн бұрын
I talk about sourcing them from Hoss in this video. They were ordered in August on a preorder so they are not currently available. I do also go over other options for sourcing

I met a lady who starts her strawberries now but who do I order from?? No one can tell me that. Please help!
@fromthegardenchannel7 сағат бұрын
Anytime live plants are shipped in the fall they are pre ordered in the late summer . If you watched my video then you would have seen the portion where I go over sourcing berries, give suggestions of where to order from now and that I got mine pre ordered from Hoss. I know this video is long but I worked hard to add all info that would be helpful to those wanting to try growing strawberries right now
