I’ve never grown sweet potatoes 🍠 but I plan on doing so next season. I’d probably take them off and let them root in some water though. Stay blessed fam! -Calvin

Cut the bad leaves off. The cut the good slips off and put them in water.

I would cut off the bad leaves. And cut off the good slips and place them in water. I would put them in a bigger container. Are you changing the water. So the roots aren't slimy? I have done them both way. I have one in dirt on my window sil now. Hoped this helped you. Good luck. Have a wonderful day

Nicole I would take those off and root them in water so the potato can grow more slips. I have done mine in water and in soil and just take them off to root in water when they get to that size so I have some ready for the initial planting. I have left some in soil for like 6 months and it became like a plant until with the move I forgot to water it and it dried out and went to the upper room. Either way I have had some leaves turn brown and die off.
