Great information about mineralizing our soil!! Had no idea! Thanks for sharing!! I like how Don said, "we are in debt to Mother Nature" and we should give something back to her before asking more from her...That's a cool way to think!

I am so hyped to start my first garden. I have a nice sized balcony and would rather utilize it for something productive instead of using it for storage. Ever since I started juicing, I am totally compelled to grow my own organics. The info you guys just provided is exactly what I needed. Thank you very much. You guys rock!

I have had soil wash out of pots I am growing in. That being said, the water solution of the sea-90 is more likely to wash away than the rock dust.

After watching some videos a couple years ago featuring Azomite I figured I give it try. I had no dealers in my state(North Dakota). I ordered direct and with shipping it cost me 45 dollars per bag. First year I ordered and used 4 bags. One on each of 4 raised beds(4x8). The previous year I only used compost and I did check the Brix of the vegetables harvest. This year with more Azomite added in the spring I check the harvest veggies and the brix was even higher and and food much more tasty.

I ordered the rockdust from rootnaturally thanks to you. I have been adding it to my compost pile as it's breaking down. I'm heading over to order the Sea90 now and utilizing it as well. Thanks for all you do to teach those of us new to the game!

It may be very costly to have your soil tested for micro minerals but I know for a fact that by testing Brix levels before and after using Amozite my crops growth increased and the brix levels also increased. The higher the brix; the more sweeter and tastier the vegetables.

Sand is not the same as rock dust. Sand is probably mostly silica. Once again, the key to the rock dust is the full spectrum of trace minerals, which is the main point I strived to get across in this video. Its really important to add the trace minerals to your garden, in my opinion.

While you may be able to apply microbes, live nutrients to your soil, and have them multiply, trace minerals will not multiply, and will need to be replied, as Don says, add generously. That being said, 10 pounds of the sea-90 should last quite a while, as you are diluting a teaspoon with a gallon of water and watering it in. I encourage you to do a side-by-side test of growing with and without it and showing the results!

all rock dusts have a full spectrum of minerals including heavy metals. In small trace amounts I believe that plants know how to handle heavy metals. They have been in nature for 1000s of years.. Only when they are bio-accumulated do they turn into a problem in my opinion. Like filling ones mouth with mercury fillings..

I discovered if you buy this through the boogie brew link it is $30 total rather than the $25 you say but thats cool cause of the boogie brew sample. Also if you go directly to the SEAAGRI website you can buy the 10lb bag for a total cost of $26.35 however their webpage is not secured so someone could skim your credit card or paypal info. Stick with the Boogie brew link in the description! Thanks john.

John has never mentioned adding clay to your soil. It should be 20-30% clay to properly give nutrients to your plants. The rock dust won't do as much without the clay.

Where I live the soils have formed from glacier moraines depositing rocks over thousands of years. The property grows Douglas fir trees 7 has for thousands of years, sand, boulders & gravel. The house pad was bulldozed flat, topsoil scraped off to make flat. Problem is IT RAINS SO MUCH, the soil is so porous minerals get leached out over time. Lots of gravel pits in my area big open pit mining gravel, for asphalt road building & concrete construction but they don't deal with the public.

Sand is not necessarily the same as a horticultural rock dust. The particle size of the rock dust is like a fine flour, sand is too gritty.

John, I wish you would grow some Kale in both your rich soil and some in basic dead soil with farming additives. Then have the Kale tested for best nutrition. The results would be indisputable proof of what you fight so hard to teach. Its like when Fruitarians show blood test results to prove healthy levels. I can only emagine how yours would probably be the benchmark of perfect health. Great video man, thank you.

that's sort of talking around the issue. the natural sources in this case would be inferior to processed mineralizing fertilizers that do not have some of the problematic elements. also the rock dust powder to me seems like it might be dangeous if you breathe some of the dust in the air. i'm not saying it's bad, i have a bag, but i'd like to seem some long term studies of the soil and the plants/produce from these mineralizers.

Probably a dumb question but isn't sand sort of like Rock Dust. So if sand was pulverized it would be rock dust right? Just a thought. $35.00 for Azomite a bag is so expensive to me but I use it becuae you said it is good. My garden is so big that I spread a bag of it over a large area. Thanks Don and John!

I'm all for using Rock Dust, despite the associated high cost, but not without an independent taste-test study showing conclusive evidence of considerable benefits using the rock dust. How about dedicating a show that where you do this, John: a blind taste test, a dozen or more tasters, tomatoes grown with and without rock dust . . .

I just ordered Sea-90 from your link. Three months after you made this video and used the coupon code. It gave me the discount. That is super. I am not outdoor gardening right now, since I live in Wisconsin and it is 12 degrees. Over my long winter, I will be using Sea-90 on my indoor lettuces and other seedlings. When I brew my worm tea, do you suggest I add Sea-90 to the brew? Should I add Sea-90 after it is done brewing or while it is brewing?

Part 2, Also, medical cannabis is very different from ornamentals, veggies, and fruits as I'm sure you know :) I have to wonder if no micro nutrients would cause flavor to decline...and adding any micronutes would repair that issue...so technically, versus nothing, I believe Rock Dust or any micro's would have an impact on flavor/yield/etc. But for cannabis...I think cannabis wants different forms of micro's to get the best potency and yield because its uptake is so much quicker indoors etc.

I agree that most of the guano's and poops and stuff are waaaay overhyped, but there are some really high quality vegan organic liquid nutrients out there on the market today...and after me and some fellow patients ran side-by-side tests, it was clear that synthetics took the yield and effect-potency contests, but 'veganics' took the smell/flavor/terpines as well as effect-duration contests...too close to decide on other categories like stock diameter, leaf-calyx ratio, trichome appearance etc.

Make some phone calls to your gravel pit company. Find out the name of the man in charge of the rock crushing and gravel grading. At this site you can find powder grade dust around the crushing and grading machines that might be fine enough for garden use. My area is on the edge of ancient glacial deposits and we have some of the riches farm soils in the world (Red River Valley, N.D.). I use it for a lawn and garden beds yearly. I do also buy and use Azomite to add diversity(volcanic).

Sand is far too coarse for the soil micro organisms to break down. The finer the rock dust is, the more easily soil bacteria decomposes the dust particles and releases the trace elements contained with them, putting the trace elements into a form which the plant roots can absorb. And as John said, sand is mainly silica.

I know these dusts use a very small amount of poisonous heavy metals and other dangerous elements in their forumaltion...I was wondering...has anyone tested the effects of eating mostly from your own garden while using these dusts full of those dangerous heavy metals? Are there any confirming tests that show the dangerous elements and trace minerals aren't found at dangerous levels within the produce grown with the dust? Especially for people that grow most of their own food...food for thought..

It would be helpful to see a demonstration of plants, grown with & without these products. The minerals only effect nutritional value & flavor not the plant fruit appearance. Supermarkets sell perfect foods that LOOK good, but lack flavor & these nutrients, you can't tell when buying. We have to take mineral supplements instead of getting these elements in our food. Mostly tired of grocery store food that has no flavor, but looks perfect.

Lead, Arsenic, Cadmium, Mercury, and Barium. Again, I don't know that all these dangerous heavy metals are present, but I do know the first two are in every rock dust I have found. I agree with John's viewpoint, plants aren't going to have problems processing the heavy metals, however, I was just wondering if anyone's tested produce for heavy metals after using said dusts? I'm pretty sure John's right though, it shouldn't matter much as the plant shouldn't store a large amount of those elements.

Umm...I'm currently growing medical cannabis as well as strawberries, catnip, stinging nettle, aloe vera, stevia, mandarin bonsai, and a few pineapple bonsais...If you think the nutrient profiles for ANY of these plants are 'similar' to cannabis you are blindly misinformed or you haven't tried it yourself. Especially in vegan organics, I find my fruits and veggies will burn at 50% strength nutes...whereas yield and bag appeal improves all the way up to 150% strength nutes in my cannabis.

While genetics have something to do with potency, I must point you to the emerging science of epi-genetics for a contrary viewpoint...as science is now discovering genetics are merely the blueprint which is highly malleable by environmental stimuli. I have to admit that you are starting to sound more like a salesman than John ever has. Not to mention, terpines alone would be enough reason for me to want to switch...current research suggests terpines are major contributers to medical effect...
