I am 49 and I have struggled with brittle/weak nails all my life, I have tried every nail oil/cream and vitamin capsule! I think I have finally found what works and I wanted to share it with you, Amanda because I have enjoyed your tutorials and you have mentioned you have a similar problem!! I have increased my protein intake. I have replaced natural yoghurt for Fage and (against everything I have taught my children) started drinking a whey protein with skimmed milk alongside my usual healthy meals. You would not believe the difference it has made!! I hope this works for you too!!

I’m growing my nails out for my birthday (11/14), after almost 26 years of being a nail biter. The Sally Hansen Nailgrowth Miracle is my savior. I’ve finally gone almost 3 weeks without biting (new record) and most of my nails are finally at the edge of my finger, but not yet over them. I’m hoping that 12 more days of it, and coconut oil mixed with garlic will give me lots of length! The oil with garlic is another hack

The gelish structure is REALLY GOOD!!! I just came out of acrylic overlays in March and have been doing my own gel polish manicures and the foundation, structure and rest of the process is so nice when I'm done. My nails are still going through a "breakdown" process but has gotten so much better. I also like to take prenatal vitamins for strengthening my nails and it's REALLY working 😊

@amandabellantoni.. Probably a silly question, but... If I use the Gelish base & top, then buff out and use regular polish as you said in the video, I can take off the regular polish & reapply a new color without redoing the gel overlay right?
@lindaferguson26402 жыл бұрын
The problem I have with gloves is that the moisture created by wearing the gloves softens the nails just as badly as putting them in the water in the first place and they also soften in the shower etc, etc. It's also an issue when I do get my nails done they soften in water from underneath and so can cause the gel or whatever to lift as a result. I've never had a manicure last more than a week. Even taking supplements don't really do much. After 45 years have finally got them to grow to the fingertips but that's just about it. I agree with you that cuticle oil and handcream are essential for nail/hand health.

Also, Nails Inc Back to Life recovery treatment basecoat, and I take oral Biotin and calcium, Garden of Life Perfect food powder mixed with any water/juice. After having my liquid gel overlay GROUND OFF WITH AN E FILE at a salon, my nails were trashed. All this helped. Love your channel, honey!

This video is my BIBLE. For the strengthening polishes (OPI Nail Envy and Nail Aid Biotin) can you use them as bases under gel before overlay? Like could you apply the strengthener , THEN Gelish Foundation , THEN top it off , etc... or do you recommend only using them under regular nail polish? Thank you SO much for this vid!!
@AmandaBellaa Жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for the kind words!!! :):) I'm honestly not sure, I've never tried. I usually reserve the strengthening polishes for use with regular lacquer. Regular polish can go on top of cured gel, but I'm not so sure about the other way around. I may have to try it though!! Thanks for watching! XOXO
