I sowed my first tabasco chilli seeds a few months back and planted 10 seeds, as I didn’t think the germination rate would be good. Every single one took and now I have 10 mini chilli plants! After seeing how big the plant can get, I have no idea what I’m going to do with them all 😂

Nice tip on doing the pruning. It might look like your kling the plant by cutting it but it's the other way around. Your giving the plant what it needs to focus on those little branches and grow big. Definitely will be doing it to mine this year's grow cause I'm Mexican and I can't live without Chiles. Everytime I get home from work I go to my Tabasco plant and pick 10 Chiles to eat dinner and they never run out. The more the pick the more they grow. Sometimes if I'm in the groceries I'll pick up some habanero, jalapeno, and serrano to make salsa or include them in dishes but I always have the Tabasco on the side to bite on. Very good plant and very good yield of peppers.

If you have never tried to ferment the tabasco peppers which is very easy, you must give it a try. Just blend the peppers to a pulp and add the correct amount of kosher or pickling salt to the pulp weight ratio and put a cover on the container that allows the fermentation gas to vent for a couple of months preferably and when you think fermentation has stopped you can then dilute with the vinegar of your choice until the heat you want. I like white wine vinegar and apple cider vinegar mixed and you will have tobasco sauce that is very delicious delicious.

Grow them. It's so rewarding to see that many peppers and flowers. The spice is very hot unless you take the seeds out, then it makes it very barrable. I don't know that I would grow them every year, maybe every other year because the harvest can be used for such a long period of time after growing
@adamgregory91984 жыл бұрын
Tobasco peppers are crazy hot. I touched my forehead after picking and my forehead was on fire for two hours. If you break open the peppers to get the seeds, the pepper oil can hide under your nails for hours. You can actually use the green peppers too and they’re nice for people that don’t like things so hot.

Thanks you! i have a question, what soil you used, is one with a mix of nitrogen, potassium and phosphorus? did you used extra potassium like some banana peel?
@Sundrop22042 жыл бұрын
A good quality organic potting mix when you first plant the seed. Then once the seedling grows beyond the 2nd set of true leaves, then you add a slow release potassium enriched fertiliser. Potassium is to encourage flowering and fruiting. So look for one with a higher ratio of potassium. Best of luck!

It gets 100 over here too but it for sure isn't as dry. I think this plant would survive and do well if you kept a little shade in it and watered. I really didn't cut it too much after my first cuts I make as a baby plant. If it gets too bushy you can just cut it to look nice but if you dont care just let it grow.
