I just wanted to say that this is a FABULOUS company! I've ordered supplies from them and they were shipped quickly. They offer excellent instruction and excellent organic products. I am growing my first batch of wheat grass, sunflower & pea greens as I write this and I can't tell you how excited I am to be able to have all this nutrient dense food in my home.

I have grown wheat grass many ways with varying success but I have had the best success using this exact method with plain organic potting soil.I just place the 10 by 20 trays on top of my cupboards over my range and the heat makes them grow super fast. 3 times fast than my sproutmaster trays without soil. Thanks!!!!

YES! Shawn doesnt use rock dust (or ocean grown minerals) there YET. Trust me, I had a good discussion about that with him, and I believe he is commited to trying it. When I grow wheatgrass, I use 1/2 organic compost and 1/2 rock dust as the "organic soil" mix. You can also use "ocean grown" minerals to water them, which will add minerals from the sea. (I will have an upcoming episode about ocean grown)

John.... I wonder if it would be a good idea to add a small amount of rock dust to the organic soil used for sprouting. They say, wheat grass grown in fields is more nutritious then wheatgrass grown in trays. I would guess that is because the soil MIGHT have more nutrients in it, like minerals and such. Your thoughts?

Thank you so much. this was great. I find the most difficult part is getting organic seeds. But I love sprouts and the way they make me feel. yumm...better than coffee anyday.

After you harvest the wheat grass after 7 days, can you let it grow again for a second harvest?

you dont need a juicer. Your TEETH are natures best juicer! chew the wheatgrass until there is no liquid left and then spit out the fiber.. IF your hardcore, you can swallow the fiber too.. its good roughage.. If you have a blender you can blend a little wheatgrass with alot of water, and then strain out the fiber. Two (low) cost methods to get the benefits of wheatgrass without a blender.

John, can I use Bokashi to mix in the soil to grow microgreens? Or perhaps mist the seeds with a tiny bit of IMO4 concotion which is 1 to 20 parts water, do you think? Or can we put some microrrizar on the seeds ( last wash)?

Does it matter if you use tap water to rinse/soak the wheat grass seeds (or should you only use filtered water)?

Is there a reason they use seed trays with holes instead of gravel trays or cafeteria trays without holes the way Ann Wigmore taught? Does trays without holes cause mold or something? I like Ann's way better because then you don't have to empty the water out of your trays or sprout your seeds before putting them on the soil. But I don't want to do it that way if it is more prone to mold.

I am not sure what the tactic was for mixing up the measurements like that, but, I was sitting on 16 lbs of organic wheat berries so I am not that pissed off about it. I will just have to review some really good vegan raw wheat berry salad recipes and keep the rest of these soaked berries in the refrigerator.

to make the water acid and kill all bacteria after soaking the seeds, could I use a splash of vinager? would that work? and another question, after I´m done sprouting, do I compost the soil? thank you for putting your videos up! I´m starting juicing wheatgrass :)

I really love your videos my friend! Thank you for for all your work in putting this information out there. I recently bought a sack of green beans that I wanted to sprout, but it doesn't say anything about sprouting or if they are organically grown. They will still work as sprouts right? -Love & Gratitude-

Hi John, I am growing wheat grass for the first time, organic seeds. I saw a tutorial and it didn't say to soak the seeds, so I planted them in soil. They are sprouting quckly and I noticed that the blades now have a droplet of water on each of the tips of grass. Is it still safe for us and the cats or do I need to start over? Thank you so much!

Just remember...Organic does not mean free of GMO contamination! I like how they aren't using automated sprinklers. Guessing with the 6 to 8 days, seed to feed, they are just watering by hand to keep down the electric bill? ((ah growing in soil, not in just water with nutrients...) Searching for ways to prepare and consume wheatgrass, without juicing it. I am in a country/area of poor people, a juicer would be outside of their means. suggestions?
