As scary as it is & as heartbreaking as being hurt can be, I still want to love & have a loving heart. I don’t want to be closed off.

The heart is where we covet things. Coveting can be dangerous. I was warned about this many years ago..and scoffed at the notion. Cue many years of backsliding and misery. My biggest downfall was relationships, unmarried ones at that. Thats what can happen. You compromise on one thing and it leads to another...the heart becomes hardened and God keeps at a distance until you wake up. It took a very stark choice last year for me. It was either take my own life or get back on track with Christ. It was that serious. Guard your hearts. Dont get fooled over 'little sins' because they soon amount to something really bad.

I desire to never walk away from my love for God that He has placed iny heart. This video has been an eye-opener to me. The Lord seemed to tell me thru this vid that to stay in His love, I should guard my heart by filling it with truth and emptying it of sin and lies. Thanks for sharing!

Hi from Fiji! Thank you so much for this, greatful I came across this, literally searched for "how to guard your heart" after my brother interrupted me whilst I was just beginning my midnight prayers. I ended up passing a comment because I disliked the way he acted towards me... Buuuut the Holy Spirit.. oh well, only thing I can say is thank you Lord, and thank you Holy Spirit for the correction. I should know better😊 bless you

Guarding your heart truly means that as long as you know God's truth, you will go towards the obedience and will of God of your entire life. You will know what to do in EVERY area of your life because you're protected by the word of God, and the relationship you have with God and the Holy Spirit. In simpler terms; you'll know what to say yes and no to. You will go through things you don't want to go through, but the Holy Spirit will be there to convict (love you) and guide you.

Thanks for this! You explained it very well. Now I realize the context- first, let God write truth on your heart and then protect that- guard God’s truth. Out of all the videos on this subject I haven’t heard it in this way and got the clarity that I received here. Thanks!

It also means to "Guard your heart", LITERALLY! You don't want to damage it. Keeping God's instructions and guarding your heart, are TWO DIFFERENT THINGS! You guard the Word of God IN YOUR HEART, but you ALSO are to GUARD YOUR EMOTIONS AND YOUR SPIRIT! Guard the PURITY of your heart, your emotions, feelings, your love. It DOES mean to GUARD YOUR HEART. I believe this is referring to those who steadfastly follow God's ways.
