Rotations in 3v3. 1st man, 2nd man, 3rd man OFFENSE 1st man's role: starting the offense, setting up teamates or scoring goals using solo plays, passes, 50ing the ball, or putting the ball in a difficult position to break down offense. Once 1st man is done with whatever they attempt, they immediately rotate back to 3rd man. 3rd man's role: fill relevant spaces that 1st and 2nd man cant fill. (postioning oneself in the best position to be ready for a long shot or a chance to score by looking at where teamates and opponents are at, distancing away from teamates.) Third man rotates and becomes 2nd man when 1st man rotates back. 2nd man's role: being ready to shoot off of a pass from 1st man, or being instantly ready to become 1st man. keep in mind that you dont always have to be the one to score off of 1st man, you can let 3rd man rotate up and hit the ball, (ONLY if 1st man is already rotating back to become 3rd man) Defense 1st man: challenge the ball first, (smart challenge, not just jumping at the ball), if the first man fails, this is worst case scenario. you'll be out of the play . try rotating back to 3rd man immediately. if you can get the ball away from the opponent, recognize if your teamates can get a pass to you going down field. (outlet pass) again, if the pass is not there, rotate back to third man again. 2nd man: playing behind the 1st man, you need to be on the ball right after 1st man challenges or else the challenge from 1st man will be all for nothing. just banging the ball downfield will not break you out of defense. you need to go for that outlet pass to try putting some pressure on opponent. if the outlet pass is not there, you are now the first man. you can linger down field if you lose possession of ball if you know that your teammates can follow up with a pass. 3rd man: also has the role of looking for an outlet pass. if you have teammates already on the ground covering net, get on the backboard to look for a clear. know what role you are in. positioning for defense: 1st man : challenging 2nd man: near post, being ready to go up side wall to contest ball or follow up on challenge to pass up ball. 3rd man: far post, defending shots always. never go for corner boost unless you know that goal is covered.

you can’t teach people how to think in a game as situationally based as this one. The fundamental job roles are not 4 lines of writing long. They’re 3 words long. Telling people how to think makes them useless because as soon as a different situation emerges which it always will, they won’t know what to do

I'm low platinum and just began playing 3v3's without my friends on party, because they're on holiday. Usually we talk and fill the rolls pretty well (for plat players) but when I play random matches, my teammates always ballchase up forcing me to play third man. It's really annoying cause of course my teammates don't know what they're doing wrong, cause we all just basically started playing, and my opponents don't know how to punish when they overcommit. So because I don't want to leave my team with no third man, I rarely get goals, and constantly have to deal with my teammates saying they carried me. But ever since this video I have improved a lot, even though I still need to improve to get out of platinum!

This definitely sounds like the solo queue struggle my man you’re not alone! The most important thing is to enjoy yourself and focus on improving individually. If that means you stop caring about win or lose and instead go out and be a part of the offense whether your team suffers for it or not, so be it as long as you’re having fun and improving

Nice vid. I love this kind of content even though there are a lot of guides out there, this is a nice updated take. I like hearing how you think about the game, like the shark. I use the term “venomous” like a snake, to get in the 2nd man mindset haha, so that really resonated. Keep up the good work!

The hardest struggle in diamond is that sure most people are capable at shooting the ball, saves etc. But like 30% of players don’t understand rotation and spam “what a save!” After forcing a bad touch and putting you in an awkward save position

@@CrackedZac I keep bouncing between D3 and C1 on 3v3 and 2v2, I unfortunately play solo queue as my friends don't play at the same time as me. I'm often surprised on how people have a very poor knowledge of rotation, positioning and decision-making. I think that if you follow a good rotation and positioning, the decision-making becomes easier. Anyway, C'est la vie.... Just a suggestion, I believe it would be good to have your video (likes this one) without showing pro's playing or SSL lvl players. These guys have a close to perfect ball/game reading, which makes it look way too easy. If you'd show gameplay of D3, C1 or even C2 it might be more realistic to your audience. Just my opinion. keep the great work

@@romanus5896 that’s true, the only issue is like you said it would probably take me forever to find instances of players around that rank doing these things correctly 😂 I could easily find examples of what NOT to do tho haha

@@CrackedZacyeah, that's true too... "I could easily find examples of what NOT to do tho haha" ooh man, I have no doubt about that!!! Just for those who might read this. I started RL on Mars 2022 (abt 1 year ago). I don't know how to Air Roll, I cannot Speedflip, I'm somewhat OK which Aerials, My Ball and Car control is quite limited, yet I'm now battling between D3 and C1 in 2v2 and 3v3, just by following a proper rotation/positioning as much I can (I definitely make mistakes). While playing with people who have been Champ for longer than I actually play the game and do all those fancy moves but are stuck C1 and keeps blaming their team8 while they chase the ball like headless chickens offensively and defensively. Anyway, just to say that otation/positioning and decision-making is the key (tho as Zac said, RL is very situational)

3v3 is all about team positioning. If your team isn’t on the same page, you’re not going to win.
@marshallteach9006 Жыл бұрын
I really struggle with this in diamond. We are slow to rotate so I rarely feel safe enough to move forward and leave my position as third man, I don't trust my teammates to be back in time to defend, plus they often simply won't rotate at all so that makes me even more hesitant to transition into offense when I should.
@CrackedZac Жыл бұрын
Yeah, low ranked solo queue is going to be tough to rotate well with your team. I would suggest trying to queue up with people you play with who you feel like understand rotation. Also, take a look at some of my Diamond replay analysis to get some ideas on how you can possibly improve yourself. Off the top of my head I would say a defensive stance at that rank wouldn’t be bad at all, but you need to make sure you’re in the sweet spot of being far enough back where you can defend, but not being so far back that you can’t maintain your offense

What I see is 2nd man double committing and even taking the ball from 1st man and then NOT rotating back to 3rd man. Putting the entire team out of position. The best thing to do when learning rotation in 3s is just to leave 1st man alone to do whatever they want with the ball, be it fake the opposition, dribble or smack the ball upfield. You have to have faith in your team, or don't play with them.. If you're going to take the ball from 1st man every time 1st man isn't doing the play you want, then how is that going to succeed?! Play 2nd man and wait to pick up the play where 1st man leaves it. Then it's your turn to be left alone to do what you want with the play and THEN rotate back to 3rd man. The current 3rd man can see the whole field and is wanting to come forward to support 1st man or be 1st man.

One of the dudes I play with literally has no idea what third man is unless the ball is in our side then he’s all of the sudden third man. He’s quick and mechanically skilled but he just rotates immediately back into the play between first and second man. Don’t play like that lol
@russallen2011 Жыл бұрын
Maybe you’re slow and he is frustrated that you’re not pressuring the ball
@Brouse Жыл бұрын
@@russallen2011 Nope, I play fine in 3s alone, I have no issues rotating with randoms so I know it’s him lol. I’m currently on vacation, before I left I almost hit GC just playing with randoms lol and I’ve never gotten close with him. I’m fast enough I know that but he doesn’t rotate mid at all. If I commit he always manages to jump 2 seconds later and we get scored on lol, I could literally sit and watch him for an entire game and he will never rotate back. I just remembered something else too, I’ve watched this dude literally chase the ball on their side from one corner to the next, multiple times. That’s plat-diamond positioning. I’m not saying on absolutely amazing at the game but I don’t do stuff like that lol.

None of this works in bronze silver or gold, everyone knocks you out of the way and goes for the ball full aggressive. Matches are very rng at low elo. Kinda sucks tbh, disconnecting teammates and overly aggressive ones fucks me everytime
