I have been using Reaper and Army Painter for my brush paints as logistically they are easy to get, but been moving towards AMMO and Mr Hobby for my spray paints. Still use Tamiya's as well as they are forgiving

good call, I tend to use different paints between spray and brush painting too - it's tough to ask a paint to do both right? Tamiya is nicely forgiving, am looking forward to trying out their lacquers too!

Never tried their lacquers. My biggest complaint with Tamiya is a limited range. They seem to think people only use their paints for their kits as new colours only seem to come when they release a new kit and the colour isn't in their range. Have to say I like the finish on Mr Hobby. There is a X-Wing with Metallic Blue Green's name on it ;)

Yes, all those old WWII colours... that's why I'm a big fan of Gaia because they make cool colours for other people's kits. I can mix colours but... nifty one offs are fun!!

That's like that Titanium Steel or something like that from Migs Metals you just reviewed. Went on like bright silver but when it dried had a beautiful light blue metallic look to it. Going to pick it up and try it on a 28mm Knight.

I'm looking at painting my model a flat black with primers to make it look like a pirate vehicle. How do you go about painting black armor with spray can black primer as the core of the scheme?

Got a full airbrush set up but haven't tried it yet. About to practice with some Mig One Shot first so this was the perfect video to find. By the way do you have any preference between Tamiya or Vallejo clear coats? I have both but not quite sure which one to work with first and I need all the professional opinions I can get.

how would you mix paint with colors from those dropper bottles? would you mix them in a jar first then add them to the airbrush or mix them in the airbrush itself?

some mix in a jar other in the airbrush I mix in jar so i can give it a real good mix to make sure theres no lumps also tbh i buy the ready mixed stuff saves alot of time so can just put it straight into the airbrush

Hi Ji Sang, good question and sorry for the delay, been super busy!! If it's one off job and I'm working quickly, I would drop them straight into the cup after a squirt of thinner and then mix with a soft brush. If it's a big job or it need to be really close - then mix up a batch in a separate jar. Hope that helps!

One shot is really good as a primer... the other one is more like a regular paint. :)

i just bought ammo but the primer seems so watery when i spray it any solution? i tried to shake it but still the same :c

Yes I am a little disappointed with how the AMMO stuff seems to not last long. All we can do is shake and shake. If still no good, maybe return to the store? In my new book coming soon, I show many kinds of primers and hope this is useful for you. Thank you also for being a subscriber!

hey! There's a few looks you can go with, full metallic look or a kind of burnt engine look - depends on what you want it to look like? I like "Tracks Primer" type colours for a burnt metal look and we can try some different ways here on my channel on future builds :)

I've used enamels, acrylics and lacquers on the One Shot Primer..just for the more aggressive paints *and* before masking over it you will want to give it 24 hours to cure, otherwise it can pull up.

If you're dead set on thinking you can go where many a man has tried and failed before... I suggest buying a combo set, like the master airbrush + tank/compressor. You'll have an airbrush to try out, it's not much more expensive than buying the tank/compressor and hose you would be need in either case, and when you have the funds to step your game up you will appreciate the neatness and craftsmanship of your first big boy airbrush that much more, really understanding the differences and knowing where you want to push yourself further. ;)

The master airbrush/compressor combo you get for like $80-$100 on Amazon is great. I've won countless awards with this cheap setup.
