How to Hack your reMarkable Tablet!

So you want to hack your reMarkable? Well... join me in this video as I hack my own reMarkable 2. I'll show you step by step how to do it. I am not the author of the hack. I don't even know the guy who is. I just like the benefits it provides, and so I am sharing the process for those who might not know how to start. Here is the website for the hack:

This will void your warranty. Perform at your own risk. I am not responsible if you break your device. But... I've done this several times with no issues... so have hundreds (thousands?) of others.

Hello and thanks a lot for your tutorial hacking the rM2. All the new options are just awesome. In my opinion should be installed natively. Just a question. I saw that in the General section in the settings the software version has changed. What will happend when reMarkable will send their automatic official updates. Will I have to re-patch my rM2 to keep my tab like it is now ? (Maybe it's better to desactivate automatic updates as I am quite happy with the new features that I have now with your tuto) Thanx for your answer. Greetings from Switzerland

If you update the RM2 (manually or automatically) it will overwrite the hacked software. You will need to re-hack it to the newer version once that is released. I would turn off automatic updates, and that way you can control when that happens.

the instructions are in the video, near the end. Search the timezone link for your timezone, and set that in the remarkable.

Yes, you should just be able to open up a terminal window and follow the exact same instructions. open Spotlight (Cmd-Space) type Terminal

Not really. It's a byproduct of the screen material.
