A VERY important warning: After long and unsuccessful attempts, I finally figured out that the problem was the “color mode” of the work. The “Difference” option works differently in CMYK color mode, so if you want to do the operations in this video and succeed, your work must be in RGB mode.

Dude, you have no idea how much of a life saver you are. Forever a subscriber. One question I have though. I noticed you always add a background to match the shirt. Is this also to eliminate the transparent pixels? I always thought you could make sure the image was rgb 8 bit to eliminate those nasty pixels. ??
@DTFSuperstore10 ай бұрын
If we're dealing with a transparent PNG like the flame, or something with a glow, we need the shirt color in the design to make the transition more seamless from the halftones to the shirt when printing. The rest of the time we're just using the shirt color to test and make sure the graphic still looks correct, otherwise its very hard to tell.

Thanks for the video, once again providing a deep well of knowledge on this subject. Looking at the end results the transfers come out perfectly. It would be great to get some more information on how you get the areas which aren't half toned to show the threads of the shirt as looking at the real world examples you can see them merging the transfer and the fabric together really nicely.
@DTFSuperstore11 ай бұрын
Second pressing the garment helps embed the transfer deeper into the garment, parchment paper or T-Seal are your best option for that second press. Also, those particular garments had a "thicker" weave so it was a little more pronounced than usual.

Do you have a video explaining how to get the dots fully transferred onto the shirt? I struggle with that and I use a Geo Knight heat press that is reliable. Do you have specific film and inks that transfer the best?
@DTFSuperstore6 ай бұрын
There will always be some dots that get left behind on the transfer sheet. Halftones especially need the white underbase choked and if they are choked by 2 pixels and halftone dot 4 pixels or less will end up with no white underbase or adhesive behind it. Thus it won't stick. It's an expected loss that most of the time doesn't effect the overall look of the final garment.

Your tutorials teach me so much, Thank you! I think I've got the halftoning down for most colours, but for some reason, halftoning a neon sign with a white inner and a purple glow, to go on a white shirt causes me to lose too much of the purple glow and makes my image look dull. I've done several attempts by adjusting the levels but it's just not coming out close to the original. Should I just print it with the white underbase under the glow, or is there a way to make this work? Could I send it to you to show me how to get the best effect?

@@DTFSuperstore Quick question. For all these dark shirts, do you have to create an underbase or is that left to rip software?
@sigb.calamitees9 ай бұрын
Do you know if this would work decently well with DTG printing as well? I'm planning to do some self-produced DTF stuff as well but I also like to use print-on-demand and a couple of the places I use on my old accounts I've had forever don't allow you to disable certain fabric colors so I'm kind of trying to find a "works on multiple colors" sort of technique, I know the blended colors won't match all but 1 of the shirt color options but thinking if I used some sort of neutral color that kind of goes well with lots of different fabric colors if it'd still work somewhat decent? My only worry is that white base layers would show up through some of the halftone patterns (in DTG) I know this works great with DTF as you're demonstrating... I want to use this technique but I'm worried I'll end up w/ stuff that shows the white base layer in some situations, I'm going to submit some designs and buy them myself to check but rather not buy a bunch of test shirts if I can just know ahead of time if it'll work decently enough. Great video, appreciate you doing this for everyone!
@DTFSuperstore9 ай бұрын
as long as the printer is aligned properly you should see any white underbase whether DTG or DTF. Definitely send a test graphic in first and see how that comes out. it's best to do the halftoning knock out with the color of the t-shirt. approximate might give you subpar results.

@DTFSuperstore17 сағат бұрын
The green layer you add above the image and then use the difference blendmode must be the same color as the green you are trying to get rid of. If the green doesnt turn black you've done something wrong with the blend mode. then make sure you merge the two layers together before following the halftone steps
