Great and I really like your explanation but my problem is when I have to be close like for example putting a rug on or cleaning her hooves

I am really struggling with being close to my Yearling Gypsy Cross , because He has bitten . Opening a gate and He stands quiet , suddenly reaches out and bites without warning . Leading Little Bear is very stressful to me . He seems to immediately want to play bite ? So my Husband does most of the leading Bear now . We did get a Trainer recently. Doing easy round pen . How do I ever groom and clean hooves and love on Bear if I have to keep Him at arms length? Is this just temporary lessons for Him ? Thank you 😇 Laura 🐴Bear

I'd like to see how you get the halter on please. My boy swings head round and bites also bites the halter making it difficult to get on. Please show us how you manage that. Thank you

I have the same problem! Try putting a fly mask and then halter on while avoiding the horse constantly trying to bite me.

My mare often shoos the other horses away from me and pins her ears back in preparation for this. However, once in a while, she will do the same to me if I pet her while she is busy beating. I want to correct this. I want her to respect me as I do her. She has nipped at us before but only when doing this shoo move. The rest of the time she asks permission to hug me. Is there a way of showing her to not be head shy at the same time as showing her to respect the space with biting?

Good content. People need to understand the alpha position with horses just like dogs. They need swift correction. Some will pick this up quickly some take a few times. Horses would much rather stand and be lazy than to move so anytime they get bitey or fuss about things make them work. If your on the ground make them lunge or move, move, move in the round pen. If you are on them, just keep making them do tight circles or any type of discipline and tire them out. Never forget the old adage: You can tell a gelding. Ask a stallion but you have to discuss it with a mare. Being a barrel racer and having all three, no truer statement has been spoken. They are all individuals and will act and react differently but learn the subtleties of equines and that does not come overnight.

Best way to break a horse 🐎 from biting is have a plastic bucket 🪣 in hand ✋️ and when horse starts to bite smack him a good wallop in the teeth. For those that gonna say that is cruel, you haven't heard the stories of what a biting horse can do to people, like a lady getting her breast bitten off. I have had horses that would bite, I corrected them and when they left me they didn't bite and they were healthy.
