Today we are going to show you how to handle a trained dog that does not know you. The way to handle a trained dog and a dog that is not trained will be different. This is specifically how to handle a trained dog if they do not know you. Never try to handle an aggressive dog or a dog that you do not know without permission from the owner. It is important to always put safety first! Today we are using Winston, he is a F1B Standard bernedoodle. He is a sable Bernedoodle. He has just finished up with our puppy training program. He is doing great and he is ready to go home!
When we ask him to go to his place, we want to say what we mean and mean what we say. We want to be firm and and ask him to go to his place. If he does not go to his place we can use the leash to help him.
When we ask him to go in his crate, if he does not go the first time, we can grab his leash and help him go in the kennel.
When we ask him to sit, he should be able to sit with the command alone and with the hand movement.
When we ask him to go down, he should be able to go down with the verbal command and with a hand motion.
When we ask him to heel, we want him tight to our left side. Every time we stop, we want him to automatically sit. He does not need the sit command and you should not give the sit command. If he does not sit, use the leash correction.
