I wish "pressure people" would get the concept that if they need to apply maximum force to perform their game, their game is lacking technical skills which they won't develop until they start going slow and soft, but they don't get it, most of the time they just double down on it... the problems with them is the injure risk... if you are a professional they can destroy and terminate your career, and if you just train as a hobby, they will ruin it for you.. i usually avoid them like the plague... I don't want to spend my money on medical bills... on the other hand very sound advice, thanks for sharing...

Thank you. Yes, this is mostly competition advice. In training, everybody should strive to develop every part of their game AND be wary with whom they can work which aspects.

@@PeterMettlerMartialArts yep, for some, sadly is always competition time.. your advice is very correct and sound because not every time you can avoid those people and sometimes they pop out of nowhere.. the new guy with strong wrestling background and big ego.. one needs to be prepare to respond to that situation nevertheless..

I disagree. If you don’t learn how to handle pressure then how can you be sure your jiu jitsu will work against a resisting opponent who wants to hurt you

@@generalshaun3282 I agree… that’s the other side of the coin! But remember selfdefense implies not getting injured in the process.. getting a dislocated shoulder will limit your selfdefense chances for the rest of your life.. there is no need for that..

@@tribalman9668 I get your point though. I never roll hard with people who are not looking for that, I only ever roll hard with people who want it and who are of a similar size to me or bigger (I don’t like going hard on people smaller than me)

But is this really helping? Like sometimes their pressure is that strong that you can't ,,get small". They pass your guard, maybe putting enough pressure on your chest, maybe you can't get your legs close to your hands.

Relax use your frames and shrimp to get your guard back, relax and keep moving but stay small

I am small. Very small. But pressure is pressure. And strength is strength. Is like telling someone who is under another person ,,just get up". I play small, I have frames, they are just not always working with stronger and havier guys.
