So appreciate the way you simplify a complex scene. I finally understand your thought process when painting distant buildings & the colours you use. What colour did you use for the foreground water? It's gorgeous. Amsterdam would also make a good painting--the canals & tall narrow, slightly skew-whiff buildings. Thank you for sharing--it's a great painting.

I honestly don't know what colour I used, it would of been a combination of many colours. I never think about mixing a particular colour, if I painted this again it would be a slightly different blue! Thanks for watching 😀

Any chance of seeing your mixing pallet ? Do you use tubes or pans of paint? Amazing the amount of work you are turning out. Well done Love Venice paintings they are so evocative. Jean

Most of my videos show the palette, the larger paintings I tend to fill the camera with the painting. Thanks for watching 😀

I love your style of painting. It's what I've been striving to do. I wouldn't be able to paint and talk to the audience like that but it's hard for me because I'm not sure what colors your using. Sometimes you say but not always. I have a rough idea but I guess I'll try and wing it. Searched pixabay for the Pic and couldn't find it. Can u give me a link please? Thanks so much for the great videos. I joined the patreon too. Hope to see many more. Thanks

On the larger demos it is not so easy to fit the palette in the camera view, but honestly as soon as you stop thinking about colours and concentrate on tonal values and colour temperatures it will become so much easier. If your version has different colours it will be fine. I'd have to try and search for it again on pixabay, but the photo is available on my Patreon page on the Patreon version on Tier 2.

I honestly can't remember, I tend to dip into many colours while mixing. I would not worry about matching the colour if I painted this again.

Coincidence maybe, I ordered JS Sargent's Watercolors book for a hands-on reference 2 days ago.

His watercolours are great, very loose and spontaneous. I am sure you will learn a lot from studying them. 👍

Just saw a movie filmed in Venice. Looked a lot cleaner. lol. But I tried to capture photos from the filming. There were some gorgeous shots of pigeons and statutes with bridges and interesting building in background.

Świetnie uchwyciłeś tę scenę .Można to porównać do stylu Zbukvica ./Na jakim papierze malowałeś gruboziarnistym ? czy drobnoziarnistym?/

I used Saunders and Waterford 140lb Not Cold Press. This paper has a grain finish. I never use the smooth Hot press papers.
