In this video I demonstrate the PCT or Pacific Crest Trail method of how to hang a bear bag. I used this method recently while hiking in Arkansas on the Eagle Rock Loop.
Hang your bag 5 to 6ft from the branch above, 6ft from the trunk of the tree, and about 12ft off the ground.
This method works best if you are in a wooded area. If you are in an arid area or place with spruce type trees you may want to try using a bear canister.
**After posting the video originally someone commented that it only had audio on one side. This is the same video but with the audio corrected. Thank you for your feedback.
Any opinions expressed in this video are mine and mine alone. Any advice or demonstration I provide is just advice. The viewer should take responsibility for their own actions, follow any manufacturers warnings and directions and act safely and responsibly when travelling in the backcountry.
All footage shot on iPhone 11 regular camera app 4K 30fps. I tried using a wireless mic for the first time. Rode Wireless Go2 Edited in iMovie on iPad.
