Hello Carolina, is it possible to add the corner pockets after you have applied the binding. If, yes can you demonstrate how it’s done?
@crystal-jeanroat28853 жыл бұрын
This is a nice method to hang a quilt, but I’d like to add a note… The tannins in the wood (and any paper not marked as archival) can damage fabric by both discoloring it, and degrading the fabric. So, if you are using this method to hang a quilt it is recommended that you paint the wood first with an acrylic paint or poly acrylic clear coat. This also goes for storing any fabric in wood… which is why many old wood boxes are lined with fabric, and if you find an antique one, you usually see that the fabric is shredded, or ‘dry rotting’. Never store fabric, quilt, etc on bare wood shelves- paint them, or cover with shelf liners, etc.

Adding to my saved videos! I have a bunch of wall hangings to make I could do this for. Thanks!

It is so easy to add them when putting on the binding, and so much better than pinning through the quilt to hang it! 🥰

@@CarolinaMoore yes one of the reasons I haven’t worked on them is because I wanted to hang them but wasn’t sure how I would

Adding a quilt sleeve is not my favorite. This is so much faster! 🥰 With bigger quilts, you have to do a quilt sleeve. But with small ones, this works just fine!

any videos to show you how to do a pocket or sleeve when you're using your backing as a rolled binding?
@CarolinaMoore2 жыл бұрын
Yes! This video shows 2 ways to add a sleeve, and one will work with a backing-as-binding quilt: kzbin.info/www/bejne/e2LMg4Swn6aGiK8

Hi Carolina! I am a beginner and was wondering if this can be done without binding the mini quilt. My project only has the sashing or borders around the blocks. I have not finished my project and would love if you can explain how I can apply this technique to borders or sashing of a project? Thank you so much! 🥰

A hanging sleeve or hanging corners is really just for a finished quilt. A quilt top that isn't yet quilted is much lighter, so can be hung up with clips. I have one hanging in my office that I use a magnetic hanger for ... that might be a good solution?

Will this work on a 38 inch square quilt?!
@CarolinaMoore8 ай бұрын
I would think so? You'd want a sturdy dowel, or even a yardstick for the back. And cut the wood to size to fit the back of the quilt.
@PIXELSURPRISE8 ай бұрын
@@CarolinaMoore maybe with 10 inch pockets? Thank you for your very quick reply!
@CarolinaMoore8 ай бұрын
@PIXELSURPRISE yes, with 10" pockets, you'd only have 18" in the middle. I think that would work. ❤️

What about larger wall hangings, I.e. sagging in the middle

For larger projects, you want a quilt sleeve. I have a video for that: kzbin.info/www/bejne/e2LMg4Swn6aGiK8si=3VxpmI7shbFmuRF2
