How to Hang a Tilting Mirror. Securely hanging a tilting mirror is an easy project but successful results do require attention to detail and using the right hardware and tools. In this video we will show you how to easily hang a tilting mirror with some basic preparation work and tools. You will see us using a hollow wall anchor setting tool and hollow wall anchors that make the job a lot easier when you do not have a stud to secure the mirror. I had such a mirror already installed. Instructions are long-since lost. I wanted to UN-install it and move it. Couldn't find anything on the manufacturer's website. With this video, I now know the configuration, and all I have to do is reverse the process. Thank you for posting this. My problem is now solved.

I use those anchors a lot but I didn’t know there was a tool for them! Thanks! I always screwed them in to open the back and unscrewed the screw. This is way faster than!!!

Great tutorial. You really did a fantastic job and the mirrors look very nice. We know why they came out so well. You had a supervisor who's reflection appeared in the mirror. She made sure you did it correctly. Without her, I bet your mirror would be crooked. LOL.

Harki, those toggle anchors seem to be great. That should have super-holding power for such heavy mirrors. and good tip with the blue tape (ie, the first one with the level marking, and then sticking the template to that level). 👍

These are specific to this mirror so would try and use these on other mirrors. So google the below text for an example that may work for you “Hamilton Hills Round Brushed Silver Pivot Mirror Hardware Tilting Anchors for Mirror or Picture Glass or Plexiglass” It’s on Amazon, I am sure other manufacturers make similar pivot hardware as well. Hope that helps

These are Moen Sage oval mirrors from Lowes. Not sure where you will be able to buy mounting plates, you can try Home Depot or Lowes they may have similar parts. Not sure what your mounting posts look like but you could buy a towel hanger in the same series and that should have the same mounting plates.

Anyone have the template length measurement? Hubby thru ours away. I'd like to make one before we rehang the mirror after I patched his last hanging job- he did without the template. 🤦‍♀️

You can try calling the manufacturer. Or you can just put together the mirror with the brackets and mark the holes on a long piece of cardboard and make your own template. Then test the template on a scrape 2 by 4 lumber before using it for real.

My mirror tilts down on its own. How do I get it to stay straight?

That’s a good question, unless there is a set screw on you mirror model to adjust the tension I don’t know how to stop that. My suggestion is to stick something on the wall behind the mirror so it stop it from tilting past where you like it. For example a piece of dowel
