Dennis, once again great tutorial, I am hanging sheet rock in an old house and I did not understand how to get the dry wall straight on a house that is no longer plumb. Your teaching is simple, straight forward and easy to understand. You saved my project again.

Helpful to me as a DIY’er for my tiny house that is out of square. The ceiling has really been difficult by myself. Almost finished, just fitting the last 3 pieces that vary by 1/2” in 4’.

Build a quick t out of 2x4. Use them in place of second person.

@@dperezidente2113 I have done that before. But, the second person is nice to have especially my wife being fun to look at.

I have a out of plumb wall and the ceiling slopes down, any tips?
@doityourselfdenniscom3 жыл бұрын
Run a level line across the wall horizontally to figure out how out of level the ceiling is. If you know which way the ceiling is out of level, start out 4 feet down from the that end, and then do the level line and that should tell you how much to cut off. I hope this helps, if not messge me again. You will also need to figure out how out of plumb the wall is too, but the video shows you how to do that.

I thought drywall joint should be staggered?
@doityourselfdenniscom5 жыл бұрын
Depends on the situation.

@Andrew Griffin This drywall has been hung for 8 years and there have been no problems with it not being staggered.

Mr. Dennis In no situation should you railroad the butt joins. I have been doing this for 28 years now andhave seen more finishing crowns with a railroad butt. Otherwise thanks for a good video.

I did this in my personal home. It was done over 8 years ago and I have never had any problems with it.

Just by reading the previous comments I can tell him none of you people do this for a living.. You guys have no idea what you're even talking about. All of you would get Tossed off the Job as soon as you started talking about all this Stupid/Irrelevant Bullshit that Does Not Matter when Hanging Board.

I think if your staging joints your making more work for yourself.... Its not a subfloor, it doesn't have any strength, its 1/2 inch drywall.... a 2 year old can punch a hole in it, but lets stager the joints lol
