1:02 if you patch something into pitch in, it affects all to the right. However, you can put a "dead" cable (just dont put anything in the other end) in any pitch in to the right, and it will nullify the effect on it and other oscillators to the right

Oh another thing I tried is sending the oscillators out to the low pass filter and the noise into the high pass individually while in parallel

You just created a full after hours set at Movement Festival in one patch. I am speechless. Pack up and we’ll see you there in a couple months winding things down (and up and then down again) after a Carl Craig/Richie Hawtin double bill banger.

Old video but I also had problems getting this work correctly. I could almost get there but I had to turn the paraphony to 1 in order to not lose the bass sound when I turned on play and hold. If you use ARP and only have Osc 4 turned up it will never actually engage OSC 4 as each arp press is a new key. It might be he had it set to voice mode 1 but it looked like 2 in the video. Hope this helps anyone struggling.

What a great video! Very well explained, and a nice approach to performative and musical drum programming on the Matriarch. I was looking for something quite like this for a track, so big thanks for the highlight. The playable clock divider sort of blew my mind. Just subscribed, hope for more inspiring patches in the future! Cheers, //I

I hover on the edge of getting this synth and this may tip me over... I would love to see using the sequencer with a simple pattern instead of the arp, setting legato glide, and then setting ties on some notes other than the "kick" voice. Kind of an all-in-one 303 plus 808.
@Sound_ology2 жыл бұрын
This is a cool idea and I’m probably going to try it because it sounds like fun! It works really well as an enhanced 303, but I wouldn’t buy it for the purpose of doing two things at once, you’d be better off with an Erica Synth Bassline + a small eurorack kick system. If you do buy a Matriarch, get one because you want the best sounding analog single voice. It’s really most useful that way, plus it can help out in other ways when you need it
@klstay2 жыл бұрын
@@Sound_ology One of the strong draws is to greatly simplify my eurorack setup down to 1X168 and just keep mostly the "mod block" section.
@Sound_ology2 жыл бұрын
@@klstay I completely revamped my eurorack setup after integrating the Matriarch as a permanent part of it. It’s been a really fun journey… it encouraged me to go off the beaten path a little more

You need to decouple the keyboard from the pitch and then you can incorporate the other oscillators for Melodies with external hardware
@Sound_ology3 жыл бұрын
yeah, like a mother 32-style sequence or something would be cool. I'm sure there's some way of getting the onboard sequencer involved, maybe by inverting the sequencer CV for the bass drum oscillator so it's always static and leaving the others to be affected as usual
@mastermachetier55943 жыл бұрын
@@Sound_ology I need to experiment with this in my matriarch haha ! Great video though really cool way to use this synth

I love this patch man, I found flipping in a sequence and having osc 3 at the next octave and vol at around 11 o’clock worked nice to create some release after the thrumming arp, I have no clue how you came up with this patch but damn, sexy!
@nicholasgonzales23612 жыл бұрын
Love this patch! I'm having trouble at the trigger inversion step, when I set the attenuator to the left to invert the kick trigger, I seem to loose the amplitude envelope and am left with a drone note (it seems to drop as it approaches 12 o clock). wondering if you have a tip for this?
