How to harvest Ceylon Cinnamon

In this video we show you how the "real" true cinnamon of Sri Lanka is harvested and produced.
Amuura is the only organic Ceylon cinnamon exporter who does not sulfur the cinnamon and makes sure that all the bitter tasting, coumarin containing greenish outer bark is completely peeled off. Also the cinnamon is growing in a permaculture garden.

Thanks for so much detail. Such impressive old-world processing techniques to produce what I'd say is the best quality cinnamon (even worthy as a display item). Why have you designed your packs to contain so much extra room? I can see that the packs are loosely sealed, so is air exchange a good thing?

Yes Ceylon cinnamon is definitely the best and healthiest cinnamon as it has the lowest Coumarin content. As for the package we are still designing on it and trying to get better once. Air tide is the best. But we used the same packages for all our spices so it’s not perfect... but working :)

doubt: the cinnamon trees are replanted or are just removed from nature without replanting!?

Sybilla hello ! The cinnamon tree would be a normal growing tree, but as we cut off the the big stems new sprouts are coming on the sides of the cut stem.
