They don't just have underground bulbs, but also bulbils, just like the walking onions. I collected several bulbil heads and planted them into 1 gallon pots. They are now growing happily in the pots. LOL

Very interesting, too bad I can't find any wild garlic arround my house because we will live near the beach, I bet It is only grow in the mountain / cold place right?
@HerbalMeadowsBotanicals3 жыл бұрын
No it can grow in warm, sandy environments too. It's also known as field garlic, Allium vineale. Google field garlic along with your place of living and see if you can get information on local growth of wild garlic. Let me know how I can help👍 thank you for watching!

I didn't catch what time of year to harvest. It is Nov 3 and I just noticed a patch at the corner of my house. When will they be ready?
@HerbalMeadowsBotanicals Жыл бұрын
Late fall and early spring are the best times of harvest since its a root plant.

Are the leaves of wild garlic ribbed or smooth?
@HerbalMeadowsBotanicals2 жыл бұрын
Smooth and hollow. Smelling strongly of onion when you break the green top open and smell. They are hollow like chives and also identify with the bulbs and roots

@@HerbalMeadowsBotanicals Thank you for answering. The garlic I have in my yard (garden pathway) is hollow but ribbed. It has the usual garlic bulblets? next to the head just like my planted garlic does. It didn't smell strong until after I cut it up and it sat for a few minutes, THEN the smell came through. It didn't kill us after I cooked with it so I reckon we're all good here. LOL

@@kalikale3969 Sounds like you have found it in you yard❤️ it is very mild compared to the garlic we are used to 🌿🌻🐝
