I'm not sure exactly how to put this, but I started seeing stores as an asthetic that makes me happy. I feel like they do that on purpose to get u to buy stuff. So I started viewing the asthetics in my own home and I also draw so I like to draw what I like instead of having to go to a store to get that pleasure. It's def changed my life for the better while keeping my money in my pocket lol

I used to go into Christmas Crisis Mode every year - the did I do/get enough...this year all of our kids were home for Thanksgiving, so we did our Christmas with them then (they all live far away now). This will be the first year in over 30 years I'll be able to relax and enjoy the day. Merry Christmas.

I actually gave up Christmas completely this year. I let my dad do the Christmas dinner and I just brought the classic snacks. I really wanted to do ice skating but it doesn't seem possible now. I focused my attention on my son's second birthday. Had an unexpected 100 pound increase of rent. And a 1k backdate payment to back. I'm glad I decluttered at the start of December to accommodate for the birthday and Christmas presents coming in.

Great reminder that people want Presence over Presents 😊 I've been so sick recently so didn't do cards this year. Made a donation to charity in place of cards & called it done! Using no spend days to fund Christmas is fantastic! I put 10 away each week so have 520 to spend on Christmas guilt free. I also get presents through the year so I don't get December shopping blindness - another way of being kind to myself & avoiding Christmas stress 😊🎄 Stay well & have an amazing festive season xx

Please be careful with paper bags for your cat! Our cat got her head stuck in the handles 😮. We saw in time but it could have been dangerous if we hadn't seen in time We always cut the handles off now so she can safely play 😊

Imho adults don't need fancy gifts nor stuff, food/baked goods or maybe bottle of wine is enough. Stuff is for kids or young adults who still need something and maybe have hard time financially (students etc.)

My dad passed in 1976 on Nov. 29. It was hard for many years as Thanksgiving became a trigger for grief. Eventually it gets easier, but allow yourself to grieve such a big loss. ❤

Because you have been working so hard to declutter and maintain , now during a time of serious emotional strain you are able to tackle a bit of disarray more easily. it really is one of the reasons to maintain a certain level of order. entering some stores is dangerous. i do not celebrate this holiday. but walking into some stores with all the displays and people., suddenly I get wild urges to buy ythngs that werent on y mind at all. Strongly encourage people who are in a period of financial restriction to NOt fo in stores without specific lists. Even groceries get hard this time of year. Take alist with a menu for the week in your head. Pass on getting pressured to do more. a few things done well and in a relaxed atmosphere is so much better for all involved. again hoping your medical care goes well and timely.

It seems you haven’t watched much of her channel. 1. She’s trying to take personal responsibility for her choices as part of healing from her own hoarding. 2. She talks about teaching this to her children and helping them build spaces of their own in the home. 3. When she finds a pile of her husband’s belongings she explicitly says she is passing this to him to sort as they are his belongings. But neither he or her children are part of the channel (a wise choice for children and her husband’s own choice) so this is all about her actions. In other words, her pronoun choices are deliberate and appropriate and not a sign of minimising her family’s roles or choices.

@@Christinebythesea I have watched dozens of her videos. I know that recovering from hoarding disorder is very difficult. It is an overwhelming addiction (I have know hoarders and even lived with hoarders).

I don't take on holiday traditions that I don't enjoy or have time for. This year, I had my shopping done early so I wrapped things quickly. I have no kids but I don't understand the stupid Elf on a Shelf thing. Where did that stressful thing come from? 🤦‍♀️ I put all my gifts into sacks or boxes that can be used next year or recycled.
