I am currently a minor in highschool who would love to do Vtubing or any sort of content creation. But as I slowly realized being in school and trying to do content is a lot harder than it sounds. So instead I've been watching videos and clips of others to try and find stuff to help prepair me when I think I am ready to try content creation; all whilst being able to focus still on my school work at the same time just incase it doesn't work as planned. This is probably one of the most helpful videos I've found other than a few clips of Vtubers themselves talking about it. Thank you! (:

There are ways you can get around such a struggle. I think the easiest way is to put aside 1-2 days per week for a longform stream and then cut up each stream into some compilations/general clips. Then, when you're done with creating the longform clip compilations cut up that video again to get short 1 minute videos that you can upload to shorts. You get all of the benefits of uploading daily when in reality you're not making more than 1-2 videos per week and you're only doing 2 live streams per week

I know this is way old and you’re unlikely to see this, but I would recommend you try to do edited video content while in school. The nice thing is that you can come and go, wait for your mood to catch up with the humour, and adjust your editing schedule to your school workload. Doing that, I actually managed quite a few lower quality videos a week and about three lightly edited ones. Higher complexity edits take a long time to learn and do, so only so what’s in your means for time, skill, and software. I’d recommend to stick with cutting silence and bad takes, inserting funny clips, and funny effects, but definitely play with the power of keying/masking, panning, and recolouring. They are the basis for all visual effects.

A point mentioned but not elaborated on further at the end: Slow & Steady growth is good! You get to fully cultivate and shape the kind of community you wish to have. You also get to personally get to know your fans one-by-one and truly get to know who they are. Creating this connection captures peoples desire to stay and stick around, because they get to know you better too! Instead of always looking towards the future thinking of "why aren't I growing faster?", try to be in the moment more and enjoy those there already. This also creates a more positive atmosphere too! c:

Technically: All I did was powerpoint presentation in morning hours. Emotionally: It was not the best, not the smoothest, but I was myself and shared true emotions, without necessary fake acting. Tip from my side: find a VT group who gather VT, be it from your country (USA, Poland, Japan and so on), don't randomly ram in and ask that you DEMAND to be on your debut, baby steps are the most important, have strong PC, good idea for your character, constantly check out on other fellow VT. Maybe someone will need help from you one day, being helpful and good person builds strong bonds. Just don't get overwhelmed by it, keep cool head and remeber, you have your own life and you are just a mortal life form, you can be tired too. You deserve a rest. (But if we think about being a VT, I dare to say that first VT ever featured in any media, wouldn't be Ene 'Takane' Enomoto from Mekakucity Actors anime, in a way ? Think about it :) ) Very nice and informative material, Mari-sama :)

My good man, just like @me qi asked, do you have any tips on finding said groups? Getting into vtubing scares me cos it looks and sounds like everyone knows what they're doing and it's just hard to find and talk to someone who's also a big noob to vibe with and struggle with. (Ik struggling with someone sounds bad, but cmon. It's more stressful to talk to veterans just cos they feel so far away lol )

I've been thinking about doing content creation for awhile. Seeing this video right now about vtubing, it makes a lot of sense and lines up with how other content creators, who don't do vtubing, are doing the same as people that are vtubers. This video is very informative on how vtubing works. I actually didn't know much about it (because I am new to the vtubing community and only saw the surface level of things)

I would love to do vtubing but I won't because I think it is not worth it given my bland personality and boring interacting skills, but I still watched the whole video. It is just well-made and engaging, and I learned lots of things in just a few minutes. Despite me having no plans on being a vtuber, I can still relate this video to other aspects of my life, which makes me feel more inspired in continuing to do the things that I am currently doing. Thanks.

Just making video in general, if you are interested in doing it then just do it. Then maybe if it not right for you then you can just leave the video there afterwards.
@JohnnyYeTaecanUktena Жыл бұрын
There are actually plenty of bland famous people and no i am not talking about the name Bland, yes that is a thing, i am talking about personality types. You can turn your blandness and boringness into the very gimmick itself that attracts the attention of others, hell you can even go as far as turning your plainness into a parody of a mundane and boring person and there are plenty of Anime and such that does this. Hell even games do this just look at Larry from pokemon scarlet and violet a boring everyday Joe Normal Type user which somehow a lot of people like. Hell people like Squidward from Spongebob as they are a great contrast from your everyday extravertedness and the more people age the more they fall in line with Larry or Squidwards way of thinking A sense of connection/relatableness of belongingness of community that's what these popular boring people fictional or not bring to the table to make up for what they lack. So turn your bland personality and boring interacting skills into a gimmick and own it as people will come for you, and granted it will be slow if you are not adhd and extroverted but it does happen The important part is sadly getting your name out there which is the hardest part and if you do not then no one is going to watch you even if you are not boring

@@loniceinhistory my biggest issue that I realize is that I'm a perfectionist. If everything isnt perfect then it bugs the crap out of me. But then I look at what I need to do to make it perfect and I get overwhelmed and shut down... long story short... it's a work in progress 😅 but I'll get there. I'm trying to learn new things one at a time and work on making it as best as I can while trying to make myself realize that it will never be perfect and I need to let it go otherwise I will never go anywhere. But I will get there 😁

To my perspective , It really is all about the personality and how you connect with your viewers, if your a fun loving personality you can build a healthy fond community of people that likes your content , based of your personality is how people views you for you, so yeah , and this is what got me into vtubing , just casually wanting to talk with people , and even create a community , but its a long way to go, good luck !

Ever since I was young I wanted to do the KZbin stuff other people were doing, like playing video games or chatting with their fans online, but I never wanted to show my face before despite wanted to show my reactions and face! But I just wanted that block between online me and irl me, it's part of the reason I don't really use social media to show off myself physically. When I heard about vtubers I was really interested, but I didn't get too far into it because I was busy with school and I already had other things to watch to help me stress less, but now I'm starting to look more into it as a real idea and/or plan. I still want to do something else as my main job and/or hobby, but this really sparks my interest and may be something I set up one day. Maybe on the break I have after high-school? (I plan to take a break after high-school before I go to college) But worse come to worse I wait until I'm done with college and then do it! :3

the hard truths part is true. I'm a web novelist and the best advice I give out is "underestimate how much you can write." as in if you think you can do one chapter every three days maybe start with one a week instead because you can always upgrade to more and your fans will be happy but if you reduce the fans you've built wont be as happy with it while extras randomly will be loved.

Rule of three always works best. You can have more than 3 aspects but having 3 main things is more memorable. So for example your a Cat girl, Sleepy aesthetic and you like muffins. You choose your main 3 things and go heavily into them. Make your design show them and make sure talk about them in some way. It help build your brand.

Thankyou for the reality check on a lot of this stuff! I didn't even know about debuting until stumbling across it, and have just been doing content creation as a streamer, with the idea of wanting to do Vtubing once my models done (as a way that lets me interact with the audience in a manner more comfortable/true to me). Knowing how much goes into the prep, I'm really glad I stumbled across your guide and will be carrying a lot of these tips going forward with debuting. Fingers crossed! Tysm

I’m actually taking notes on this vid. Though the hololive part caught me off guard. I know that they exist, but i don’t watch them. And yes, it is content creation. If there’s one thing i can relate about this video is to be realistic with our expectations. If there’s one thing to add is to have a survey on yourself and gave it a score out of 10. Having after stream surveys and reviews on posted videos can give insights on what sections needed improvement. It’s also good for story telling on your journey if you so inclined. For me, i will do this once i made debut because i care about the community that we will have and for ourselves too

I’m having such a hard time finalizing my character/online persona. I have a few different aesthetics and appearances in mind that I want to use, so it’s hard to narrow down one. Anyone have any advice? Is it acceptable to have a few different looks as long as they all look similar enough to each other (like same hair color but changing eye color, or changing animal ears, etc)? Or would it be hard to be recognizable and memorable like that? Is it okay to mix a few different aesthetics? I’ve even considered making the character a shapeshifter or a doll so that changing body parts makes sense.
