How to have the MOST fun on Carnival Vista Cruise!

This cruise was the host of our family reunion. We landed in Houston and took a shuttle to Galveston, TX port. Our destinations were Belize, Mahogany Bay Isla Roatan and Cozumel, Mexico.

Honest question. How does it work when you buy rum there? Did you drink it before you got on the boat or were you able to bring it on the Vista?

Great question! Once you purchase, you can drink it there if you know you and your party will finish it. However, if you want to bring it back with you, it needs to be unopened and then carnival will take it from you and check it in. You won’t have access to it again until the night before disembarkation. Of course some people try to sneak it past security but they’re usually pretty on it due to it going through the scanners and crew members waiting for it after security.

I’ve never had issues with the temperature. You can adjust with the thermostat. My sister always keep her room super dark and cold on cruises while my Dad keeps his room bright and Warm. I wouldn’t think you’d need it

What was the situation in Belize?

We were informed that unless we have a booked official excursion that Belize officials would not allow us to exit the terminal due to it being too dangerous to explore the city alone
