I'm grateful to have found this! I've been looking for ways to trellis grapes for my backyard, and have been put off by the amount of investment I was going to make just to trellis 4 vines. I LOVE the idea of a more natural growth and had never heard of head-pruning until now. This style will fit perfectly with my dwarf fruit trees. Thanks so much for posting this!

My grandfather pruned the same way but only 3 spurs* 2 buds and the 🍇 was top quality

You don’t count the basil as a bud per se. I’d still leave 2 buds on top of the basil on head trained, zin especially.

Great video! Thanks for making it, I'm preparing to plant 7 zinfandel grapes tomorrow. I noticed you don't have a common cordon trellis. Just a support pole is sufficient? I may go with your technique... Do the grapes still grow well enough without the cordon wire?

though I've heard llamas protect sheep from predators, and are low maintenance.
